The Coldplay concert held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan was no doubt filled to the rafters by more than 40,000 adoring fans. And there is no denying ... even the president and the first lady were enticed to watch the show.
Little did they know that attending the concert would draw a lot of flak from social media especially when they used the presidential chopper as the easiest way to get to the venue.
The Presidential Security Group was quick to respond that going to the venue posed a security threat to Marcos and his family what with the bumper-to-bumper traffic that was almost snail-paced.
The netizens responded that nobody was complaining about their intent of watching the show. They were just concerned that the first family por delicadeza ... they were insensitive to what the entire nation felt about the inconvenience they go through with snarled traffic ... and here they are seeing them conveniently enjoying the confines of a presidential helicopter. NO SWEAT at all. And they chorused: "Sana all..."
Others complained that the first family had myopic eyes seeing what they did. They said they will always think that they can always get away from the controversy unscathed ... and everybody will give them slack. Others criticized them for using taxpayer money and government transport.
A Facebook habitue had this blistering and searing comment: "Using official resources like the presidential chopper for personal and non-official activities is generally considered an abuse of power or misuse of government resources.
