Photo Story

A photo story is the intentional use of photos or images and the words or caption that was used to come up with a story ... not necessarily the literal meaning of what is obviously shown.

To better understand the photo story, it would help to understand what a photo story is not. Try to read the words and caption that goes with it. At the end you will realize ... the photo story tries to convey and inject a more deeper meaning ... you will be surprise ... a moral lesson will just fall off in your lap.

In photojournalism, the technique used depends heavily on the way the author associate the photo or the image to the caption or text and how he played with both of them. In photo stories the author wants to explore the theme or the idea.  If the readers identify the theme ... and live through the photos ... then the photo story and its caption was done right and was successful in its intent.

Just like the image above ... it is far from reality where birds will drop by and pay you a visit when you are sick. It is surreal and was exaggeratedly done.  What we don't realize the author tricked us by telling us a story or essay not necessarily in words but by the use of images. And the caption or text that goes with it helps narrates and navigate the story.

The image above is obviously referring to friendships. When the man was unable to do his routine visit in the park, the birds were worried sick what happened to him.

It goes to show that out of 100 friends you have ... the real ones showed up when it mattered.

If you are a good person ... a lot of your friends value that.  And the only way to show that ... in your absence ... is when they will make you feel that they miss you.  Either they will call you ... or pay you a visit at home.

The same perspective can also applied to family, romantic and other types of relationships.

Adam and Ebe

Question: What would happen to Adam and Eve had they not succumbed to the temptation?

There's a lot of probabilities  but if Adam and Eve were a bit stronger and were able resist the serpent's invitation to taste the fruit ... they would have never been separated from GOD! Because even in this day and age the thing that separates us from GOD in the first place ... is sin.

In the Bible, when God says “If you eat the fruit you will surely die. " But when Eve ate the fruit.. she didn't die instantly. The death mentioned was just maybe a figure of speech and not literalling dying per se. When God said DIE maybe He meant their relationship with God died. ... (meaning some sort of separation from God). It is dying SPIRITUALLY and not PHYSICALLY.

It is obvious that the controversial forbidden fruit here is just a test for Adam and Eve's loyalty with God.  The fruit is immaterial but rather the act of obeying or disobeying the words of God ... which is the central theme here.

By the way was the forbidden fruit in the Bible a metaphor for sex? And in the same token, when Eve tempted Adam to eat the fruit ... was it another metaphor for invitation for sex?

The reason why God allowed the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was because He has given men the gift of freewill. God gave man the freedom to choose between good and evil. It is all up to him.

So if Eve never ate the fruit, we would all still be connected and was never separated from God. Had they choose to make a "snake inasal" just like  what is seen in the image above ... it would have been a better option.

Which means, there will be no hatred, no tears and no pain. Just love peace and harmony.

Just my daily rambling with all the what's and why's of the world.
