It looked like the CONFIDENTIAL funds for the office of VP  is not CONFIDENTIAL anymore. What used to be a conversation piece behind closed doors becomes an open book and everybody is talking about it.

What is this we heard that there is a rift in the UniTeam and no less than the Speaker of the House and the VP are not seeing eye to eye. UNITEAM ... no unity no more?

The Story Thickens

The volatile situation in the West Philippine Sea has opened a can of worms. After the Philippine Coastguard removed the barriers placed by China in some WPS hotspots ...  there seems to be a domino effect in the structure and the way the congressmen think in the house.  Where before everybody was all for pampering the OVP with luscious confidential funds to the tune of 125 Million pesos spent only in the span of 11 days ... now they pull back and are singing a different tune.

And what is this we heard from the grapevine ... that the House scraps OVP's suggestion to have a 500 million confidential fund and the money earmarked for OVP and DepEd was stripped off and will be redirected to agencies whose functions are directly related to protecting the national security like the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), National Security Council (NSC), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Start heating the popcorn and keep the noise popping ... I don't want to miss this for the world.

I think the biggest bulk of credit should go to the unrelenting and unwavering support of the netizens and the Filipino people to the men and women in the Coast Guard and the navy protecting the West Philippine Sea.

Hindi talaga nagpatinag at patuloy na kinakalampag ng mga tao ang kanilang mga keyboard to show their outrage and dismay that while the Coast Guard is battling the pesky Chinese excursion ... some government officials are oblivious and are more concerned about the money they will get sa kaban ng bayan ... than being involved in a not so important matter like the invasion of the Scarborough Shoal.

Because of our vigilance and active citizenry, the constant beating of the drums for freedom and responsible governance made a dent on the collective conscience in the House that stripping the OVP of their confidential funds is one good way to fund the agencies that help the coast guard and the military.
