Somebody needs to write about the reaction of senatorial candidate Rodante Marcoleta to his comment that "there is no such thing as the West Philippine Sea. Kahit i-google ninyo ... walang kayong makitang ganyan".
In fairness, technically he is correct ... totoo naman ang sinabi niya. It is just ironical that Google responded without batting an eyelash ... isang aksyon na hindi inaasahan ng lahat ... at what do you know the fall-out exceeded initial expectations ... para itong isang sampal sa butihing senador.
Wala pa isang buwan ... Google accepted the challenge ... at buong giting at ningning na naglitawan ang mga maps bearing West Philippines Sea to sites where it belongs. That with the blessing of course and the imprimatur of Google's hierarchy.
As they say "discretion is a better part of valor."
Sa galing niyang abogado, I know kaya niyang lusutan ito pero pinili niyang the issue will die a natural death. I don't blame him ... with his numbers out in the abyss, what better things could he do than to keep his mouth shut. Well-meaning advisers must have discouraged him from actively waging a war and protected him from himself.
Was this divine intervention ... lecturing the powers about their excesses ... and stop acting sanctimonious and holier than thou when their motives reek vengeance and retaliation?
Karma is a bitch. It's time for him to take his humble p.
