Have there been times in your life that you overthink ... and you thought the problem was so big it had paralyzed you and you have not moved an inch.
Overthinking tends to amplify and intensify the gnawing repercussions of a feared situation. Small issues heightened your emotions as your thinking processes focused on worst-case scenarios. Your reaction to the situation was exaggeratedly blown out of proportion making you wilt like a flower.
Overthinking can twist and disfigure your outlooks and viewpoints making it a Herculean task for you to evaluate effectively and appraise how bad the problem is. Minor details become so enormous and mindblowing when passing through the microscope of your over-the-top speculations and excessive rumination.
Overthinking magnifies your feelings and emotional responses ... and when you are down and out ... it clouds your better judgment ... and you can't think clearly and judge the situation properly.
Overthinking often leads you to a self-fulfilling prophecy (a process to which an originally false expectation leads you to its own confirmation). Examples of self-imposed prophecies include believing you will flank in the board exam ... and you failed it big time. When your beliefs and expectations influence your behavior at the subconscious level you are enacting a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Worrying overdrive in SFP makes you focus on "what might happen" and your anticipation of the danger of failing will bolster the likelihood of your impending failure or downfall.
You think about it ... so you get it.
