Her fiery exchange with prosecutor Lorna Kapunan—where she boldly declared that "misleading" questions are allowed on cross-examination—spawned the moniker "Atty. Miss Leading".

Then another enterprising meme maker thought of another situation where Vice President Sara Duterte enters in slow motion wearing a weighted athletic glove and carrying a brand-new, high-end gaming laptop.

Then, acting like an Olympic javelin or discus thrower ... she launches the object straight at the poor lawyer's face.

For me, it sounds or looks too harsh or maybe humiliating ... but memes are fun ideas, jokes, or pictures.

They were not meant to hurt people. Not intentionally.

Most memes are made to share a laugh, show a shared feeling, or build internet culture.

A few can be mean, but kindness and humor are the main goals.

The DIOKNO VS NODIOK Meme

 

If there is one thing the Filipino internet has perfected amid the non-stop political drama of the 2026 Senate Impeachment Court, it is the art of the high-tier political meme.
When the prosecution brought in House Prosecutor Chel Diokno—a human embodiment of procedural strictness, deep legal lore, and zero-nonsense precision—the internet immediately clashed him against Vice President Sara Duterte’s famous campaign mantra: "No joke, no joke!"

And thus, the ultimate 2026 meme binary was born: DIOKNO vs. NODIOK.

When the defense team tries to deploy high-concept theatrical distractions—like claiming a routine request for bank statements is an invasive "Fruit of the Poisonous Tree" or that a lateral job transfer to BARMM is a secret political reward—DIOKNO simply steps up to the microphone, adjusts his glasses, and delivers a cold, baseline fact:

DIOKNO: "Your honors, a subpoena is just a letter. It is not a SWAT team. We are asking for a PDF from a bank manager. Please stop acting like we are raiding your living room."

In the meme universe, DIOKNO is the serious prosecutor who doesn't need to yell because the numbers on the screen are doing all the screaming for him.

The "No-Joke" Conspiracy: Her team claims a top-secret plot called "Oplan Romanov" is hunting her family—until the NBI searches their databases and finds the only record of it came from a pro-Duterte vlogger who immediately ghosted the subpoena.

The "No-Joke" Alibi: Her lead counsel executes a sudden exit mid-hearing, leaving co-counsel confused and the Senate President facepalming, only for the team to explain: "Relax guys, no joke, she just really needed to go to the restroom."

When DIOKNO and NODIOK collide in the impeachment arena, the meme energy reaches critical mass:

At this point, as the trial presses on, the public's choice is clear. You can either follow the actual law with DIOKNO, or keep watching the circus with NODIOK.

I saw this meme today.  At first glance, I did not get what the author meant. Pero Napagtanto ko baka ito ang ibig niyang sabihin.  See if it matches yours.

The phrase "do as I say, not as I do" is the same as "Follow what I say ... and don't follow what I do.  

The message of this meme means that the children have to follow the instructions or advice given by someone, even if her actions contradict what she is telling them to do.

It implies that, while she may not be practicing what she preaches, her words still hold value and should be taken to heart. This phrase is often used in situations where someone acknowledges her own shortcomings or hypocrisy but still wants her instructions followed. 

But the meme above is not what the phrase says. If you look and listen closer, she is more of saying "Do as I say ... and do as I do." 

Or was she just telling the children: "Tingnan ninyo ako ... bakasyon grande ... naglalamierda pero may sueldo."

I was browsing some political memes today ... and this one caught my attention.

In the State of the Nation Address by the president last Monday, something significant is taking place away from the incessant and boisterous applause and the unrestrained approval of the BBM crowd with whatever BBM shared in his speech.. 

Ang ingay ng mga supporters na ito ha... I tell you ... napaka-loyal na loyalista. Proof of that? Namamaos na ang mga boses and their hands turned crimson-red sa kapapalakpak.. 

Going back to the unwelcome incident I mentioned ... was that just a coincidence (?) ... a freak accident (?)... or was it planned for dramatic purposes or to blow your minds out?

Isa pa ... totoo bang may nagyaring ganoon? I-rewind nga natin kung ano ang sinabi sa meme.

Pres Marcos: "Marami kaming natatanggap na reklamo na hindi man lang umaabot ang tubig sa kanilang mga gripo." May pinaparinggan ba?

Ang wandering cameraman naman nag-pan sa mga politiko sa audience ang camera niya... while Marcos was saying that ... aba eh ang tinamaan ba naman ng roving camera ay si Camille Villar? Of all people?

Pinagpiestahan tuloy ang shot ... and the cameraman had his fifteen minutes of fame ... or was it notoriety (a short-lived media publicity)

Meron tumuligsa: "Naku kulang sa zoom. Baguhan siguro."

 Naniniwala ako. Malabo kasi pag long shot. Ginawa na nga ... eh bakit hindi pa ginawa ng tama.

At may pumuri: "The cameraman deserves a bonus." Updated siya sa current events.

Camille was unbothered. Kasing tahimik siya ni Kuya Mark ... at walang pakialam kahit nagkagiyera na sa West Philippine Sea ... or maimpeach na si Inday Sara.

There are a lot of political memes circulating around about Inday (ranging from the most sarcastic to outright mocking or taunting ... but the image above takes the cake). Their themes focus on how she GLOBE TROTTED as she travelled around the world with gusto ... sinusweldohan daw siya sa kanyang pamamasyal. 

Others hurled accusations that she had made recent international trips, and the main goal is not for the country ... not for the economy ... but to drum up support for her father and for their self-preservation. 

And to think na karaykaray pa niya si Madame Imee and the entourage a bus-full - one can't help but ask kanya kanya ba silang bayad? They are enjoying luxurious 5-star hotel accommodations and star treatment ... tapos ang mga Pinoy back home hirap na hirap mairaos ang kanilang araw?

Others questioned: "Was she hiding under the guise of travelling, dahil wala na siyang alam gagawin sa office niya ... and her activities centered more on making intriga at makipagsagotan sa mga detractors niya ... and shading the president ... all for self-defense and political survival?

This is just a meme review.

Historic recurrence is the repetition of similar events in history. Just like the image above, the people choose to release Barabas, a prominent figure in the biblical story of Jesus's crucifixion. He was a notorious criminal, and robber, and an insurrectionist who was released by Pontius Pilate instead of Jesus.

It is obvious the owner of the image wants it to compare with one prominent politician's personal odyssey, where even with a truckload of glaring evidence and proofs, people would rather turn their backs and ignore the obvious.

History repeats itself when past and present specific events bear the same striking similarity. There is that noticeable resemblance, and the similarity is so strong that it catches the eye and can easily be observed.

Notice how the incident that happened Anno Domini and the last administration's political saga share the same nuances and characteristics.  

The parallelism is significant and stands out rather than being merely subtle or minor.

Ang mga tao nga naman. Of all  the animals in the land and in the water ... sa pusit pa talaga ninyo ikinumpara si VP Inday? Ano ba ang logic kung bakit sa pusit siya kinumpara?

Squid use their ink as a defensive mechanism against potential enemies. They release a dark, smoky cloud that obscures the predator's vision and allows the squid to escape. The ink can also temporarily disorient or irritate predators, making it harder for them to pursue the squid. 

Is that how they compare Inday with her confidential fund controversies? Ganyan ba umasta si Inday, na ugali ng bumubuga ng tinta para makatakbo at makaiwas sa panganib?

If you were to ask me ... I would rather compare her to an electric eel. Unlike most fish, eels have no scales. Instead, their smooth, slimy skin helps them glide through narrow crevices and slither into tight spaces to escape predators. 

Electric eels defend themselves by leaping from the water, directly shocking the threat or stunning the potential prey. Eh ilang beses na ba nakuryente ang mga congressmen sa pagiging bratinella ni Inday?

Inday was slippery indeed, and she is difficult to catch and you can't get any information from her like what happened in the hearings.

It is funny how people perceive ITIM and make it a horror story- ginawa pa nilang props ang full moon, bats, and an old gnarled tree.

It is doubly funny at gumawa pa sila ng PIATTOS na ang flavor ay pusit. Ang hindi nila alam ang makakain niyan  ay magiging anak ng kadiliman, madulas, evasive at palaging umiiwas. 

By the way, going back to our previous posts about figures of speech ... When you say "as slippery as an eel,"  or as dark as the squid's ink" ... what FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE was used?

They were using SIMILE - a rhetorical device that compares two things using the words "like", "as", or than. Similes are used to make a description more emphatic or vivid. (Example: as brave as a lion ... eyes like a hawk ... sweeter than sugar.)

Pogo or Quail eggs and Harry R. are the new meme to hit the internet. 

They are not captioned, so the owners of the meme are leaving it up to the "madlang netizens" to gather their thoughts and FILL IN THE BLANKS and frame their own conclusions.  

The whole image, however, in itself is already pregnant with all possible insinuations and imputations.

What was the last time we were talking in our Political Shorts column? Oh, we were talking about the vice presidential meltdown ... where she gave that monologue that shamed any self-confessed admission ever recorded in history... it was as though it was of nuclear proportion. It has gone beyond VIRAL.

Now we know the VP is a chip off the old block ... especially her temperament which is a replica and split image of PRRD.

Political pundits had the entertainment of their lives fine-tuning their crystal ball's functionality and reducing any wireless interference ... some even replaced their router's antennae to come up with the best analysis of the vice president's meltdown.

It all depends on whose side they are on, While pro-BBM expects an apocalyptic, and portentous backlash ... pro-Inday supporters are optimistic that she will pass the challenge with flying colors.

However neutral onlookers have their eyes open covering all angles ... wanting to know whose spin doctor did an awesome job (a spin doctor's job by the way is somebody who reframe or modify the perception of an issue or event to reduce any negative impact it might have on public opinion.)

Pro-admin supporters think this is the kiss of death to the VP's dream of making it big in the 2028 election. It seems that some ... are charred and scorched by the VP's brand of temperament in full display in 3-D and in Panavision on national TV.

We mention about two police officers being scolded two days ago ..."Huwag kayong bakla!" sabi ni Vice. Ano ba ang ibig sabihin ng linyang yon ni VP? Na sila ay sunod-sunoran lang .... did she think they are weak ... walang panindigan ... ? Mga Ganoong stereotypes?

This drew condemnation from the LGBTQ+ community which called it a derogatory remark. From the police officer's end (the police is a doctor himself) ... they also filed charges for direct assault ... disobedience to authority and grave coercion ... and this is punishable under the Revised Penal Code.

Adding more salt to the wound ... the National Security Council (NSC) concerning the VP's meltdown last Sunday had considered all threats thrown at Marcos "serious and a matter of national security."

Vice President was quick to reply and said that her murder threat against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was “maliciously taken out of logical context.”

Madam ... di ba ginamit na itong pakulo ng tatay mo? Di ba sinabi mo this is not a joke ... tapos sasabihin ng mga alipores mo ngayon "parang hindi nyo kilala si madam. Nagbibiro lang siya and she has the penchant for hyperbole (using exagerration to make an impact) like her father.

The National Bureau Of Investigation has meddled in this political drama ... little did we know it had been doing its homework fast and has already scheduled its hearing today to investigate the VP about the alleged grave threats and possible violations of the Anti-Terrorism Act following her infamous remarks last Sunday.

Madam VP's quick retort was that she could not attend because today she was scheduled to attend the hearing from the Committee on Good Governance and Public Accountability ... the very same hearing she refused to take the oath with ... or attend.

Lucky for Madame ... the Committee was so generous and decided to postpone the hearing ... so she could attend to her matters in NBI with all her heart ... and all her attention.

From WAR ON DRUGS ... the debate and the WAR OF WORDS has surged and spiraled into what you call a free-for-all-fight with De Lima and Trillanes making jabs and rear uppercuts of their own ... this unholy alliance between Marcos-Romualdez and Leila-Antonio is surely putting more salt on the ex-President's wounds.

Mindanao which makes up a third of the Philippine land area will be separated from us?

It didn't hit hard until I saw this political meme on Facebook.

This post is funny though ... but infuriating ... especially if you experience rotating brownouts for 1 week - I felt like there was no end in sight.  You just can't help kundi ang habaan ang pasensiya mo ... otherwise nag-umpisa pa lang ang umaga mo ... sira na ang mood mo. Imagine patay-sindi every 4 hours?
