JEEPNEY MODERNIZATION: Ano ba ang problema?

Jeepney modernization is long overdue. If there is one plan the government is cooking up, this one should take priority,  However, just like all other ambitious projects there are loopholes that need to be ironed out. One problem was ...  that the drivers and their operators were not consulted, and they were not included in the planning to discuss matters that involved and affected them. Can you imagine if this is your family, and you allowed your neighbors to decide and solve the problem for you ... I will be strongly offended.

The government is acting like gods and they meddle with matters like they know it all.  If they want to improve the transport services, they should know what the drivers need and they should help them.

One help maybe is to subsidize these modern transport and help support the drivers financially. The plan is big and we heard the cost of this modern transport cost 2-3 million pesos a piece. If the government thinks an ordinary Juan deal Cruz has this much money, they must be out of their minds. 

And while we are at it, the government should plan a budget for this modernization plan so it is not only the jeepney drivers and operators that will shoulder all the expenses. If they have passed a budget for 2023 controversial issues like intelligence fund, confidential fund, or Maharlika fund that cost billions ... a budget for transport modernization is a piece of cake ... or easy peasy lemon squeezy. Don't you think?

Sara Duterte is in the eye of the storm.  After giving these comments free of charge, YouTubers can't hold their punches anymore.  They say what's on their mind, and some of these commenters are true blue supporters of the Unity Team.

 

Where before they would not let a fly touch the delicate skin of their beloved VP, it is a different story now as they have to wake up from their nightmares and now they have taken up arms against their favorite daughter.  Imagine commenters saying: Red tag queen, yong sumasakay lang sa helicopter, yong pro-ROTC candidate,  Yong I thought she is a lawyer, paano niya kinonek ang communism sa transport strike, Nice Coping mechanism VP. Binoto ninyo yan, wala akong kasalanan diyan, Pag mahirap communist agad?, the ironic: majority ng mga jeepney drivers na nagwewelga ngayon eh supporters ni Sara and the most solid: The bad thing is ... people will still vote for her if she runs in 2028. Listen to some of them.

-Bisi Shah Bisi Shah - To you it may be pointless, but not to those about to lose their livelihood. Just like the community pantries during the pandemic was leftist, this doesn't hurt you, people in power, not even a bit. So try not to make it worse for those who will.

Joshua M. Joshua M. - does she even know what "communism" really means? This act is simply democratic and nothing more. 

-Blackfoot indian - this is a clear sign of government incompetency. Instead of reaching out to their people they blatantly ignore their calls and any attempt to help their needs. I am ashamed that this is my country. No wonder many people are starting to get angry to strive for better futures. If only. 

- janette ong -I'm all for the gradual phase-out and overhaul of the jeepney system, but hope the VP will be more prudent with her pronouncements so as not to give the left any distractions they can weaponize against the real issues at hand -wookie bear -Labor Strike lang, Communism na agad? Why not help them, listen to them, negotiate and compromise? 

-Michael Adriatico - Hahaha! Philippine politics has become nothing but a comedy show. Dati inis na inis ako pag napapanood ko sila. Ngayon tinatawanan ko na lang. I hope those who voted for her get what they deserve. 

-Ryland S - I think hindi alam ni Sara na democracy ang governing style ng Pinas, na we are supposed to exercise our rights, stand up for what we believe in. Sabi niya communist-inspired, i dont think alam niya ang communism, kundi ung label lang na russian/chinese "communism" na totalitarianism. Feel ko nagboboka lang siya para ishutdown any further comments that challenges the government, parang ung mga complaints ng deped teachers ayaw niya na ipadaan nila sa journalists. Anything that inconveniences the ppl in power lalagyan nila ng reactionary labels like 'communist'
