Slip Of The Pen?

Was it a slip of the pen, or was the blogger using the right word?

The English language is complex because sometimes the same word can be used in a different context and have a whole new meaning.

Words whose meaning changes depending on context are often called polysemous. They can also be described as homonyms or homophones if they share the same spelling or sound but have different meanings.

In Tagalog, the word "assumed" has negative connotations in today's parlance.

When used colloquially pwede mong sabihin CJ is "asyumera" or "presumera." Wala pa ngang announcement ang organization nag-assume na na siya na nga. Talagang atat na atat if you want a better term ... pero refinement and good breeding prevailed at naghintay talaga si CJ for Nawat to make it official.

Sa pagkataong ito naghihintay lang ang ating mga kapitbahay ng isang pagkamali ... para mapulaan na naman si CJ. But CJ has mastered the art of "pause and stand by" ... and twiddle with her thumbs habang nagbabangayan pa ang dalawang kampo. She did her waiting with finesse and class at wala man lang masabi ang buong Asya.

Sino ba naman ang hindi excited? Oo pinangarap niyang manalo and when Rachel Gupta resigned, hindi siya nag-assume or nagpresume na siya na nga ang gagawing reyna.

She waited until Nawat made the announcement that she is A-okay ... siya na nga ang rightful substitute.

When someone is dethroned, the person who takes over their responsibilities is typically called a successor.

The specific term used can depend again on the context.

Yes, assumed can also be used ... pero sa mundo ng internet, pwede ito bigyan ng ibang kulay at kahulugan.
