When Marcoleta Was Looking For Coordinates on WPS ... Whatt Comes Into Your Mind?

In the realm of political discourse and public figures, the actions of individuals often invite scrutiny and a spectrum of interpretations.

The case of Marcoleta seeking coordinates in WPS (presumably referring to a specific context, such as a location or dataset) provides an intriguing example that has sparked widespread commentary.

The question posed: What kind of behavior does Marcoleta’s inquiry represent?

I invite everyone to analyze his motives through several lenses: playing dumb, feigning ignorance, turning a blind eye, faux naïveté, sea lioning, gaslighting, or being disingenuous.

Each label offers distinct implications about intent and strategy in communication. This post endeavors to explore these possibilities with academic rigor while maintaining a humorous undertone.

1. Firstly, considering whether Marcoleta was "playing dumb" suggests that he deliberately pretended not to understand or know something widely known to avoid accountability or deflect criticism.

This tactic is common in political arenas where admitting knowledge might corner one into uncomfortable positions.

If Marcoleta was indeed playing dumb while searching for coordinates everyone else already knew, it could be interpreted as a strategic ploy—a way to appear innocent or uninformed despite possessing adequate information.

2. The notion of “feigning ignorance” closely aligns with playing dumb but carries subtle differences.

Feigning ignorance implies an active performance of being unaware when one actually understands the situation fully well.

It is slightly more calculated and intentional than mere pretense; it’s almost performative oblivion designed to stall discussions or avoid direct answers.

In this light, Marcoleta’s act could be read as an attempt at evading responsibility by pretending not to grasp what is ostensibly obvious.

3. Turning a blind eye introduces yet another dimension—willful neglect rather than outright deception.

Instead of pretending not to know for tactical reasons, this behavior reflects choosing not to acknowledge inconvenient truths because doing so would disrupt preferred narratives or strategies.

If Marcoleta consciously ignored the known coordinates in WPS despite their availability, it would suggest indifference rather than innocence.

4. The term "faux naif," borrowed from French meaning “fake naive,” encapsulates a persona adopting childlike simplicity and innocence as armor against critique or probing questions.

Unlike playing dumb, which can seem clumsy or awkwardly obvious, faux naivety is more sophisticated—it invites others to underestimate the individual’s acumen while they quietly advance their agenda under the cover of apparent cluelessness.

5. Sea lioning describes relentless questioning framed as polite inquiry but intended primarily as harassment and obstructionism—a tactic popularized on social media platforms where interlocutors bombard others with repetitive queries under the guise of civility.

If Marcoleta’s search for coordinates was accompanied by incessant demands for proof from opponents who already accepted facts widely known by all parties involved, then sea lioning aptly captures his modus operandi.

6. Gaslighting involves manipulating someone into doubting their own perceptions or reality by denying facts previously acknowledged or presenting false information confidently enough that confusion ensues among observers and targets alike.

Should Marcoleta have insisted on ignorance about something everyone else knows clearly—and done so persistently—it might constitute gaslighting aimed at destabilizing opponents’ confidence regarding shared knowledge.

7. Lastly comes disingenuousness—a broad category encompassing any form of insincerity where truthfulness is sacrificed for personal gain without necessarily involving elaborate deceit like gaslighting, but still betraying bad faith engagement with facts and interlocutors alike.

Disingenuity may simply mean giving lip service while undermining genuine dialogue through half-truths or selective omissions.

In conclusion—and with tongue firmly planted in cheek—the most fitting characterization depends on how charitably one views Marcoleta’s intentions versus how cynically one interprets his tactics.

He could be any combination: playing dumb while feigning ignorance; turning a blind eye cloaked in faux naiveté; sea lioning opponents under layers of gaslighting; all wrapped up neatly within disingenuous conduct!

Ultimately, whether one laughs at his antics or groans at yet another episode in political theater depends largely on personal tolerance for rhetorical theatrics disguised as earnest inquiry.

Responding To Netizen's Comment

Netizen: What are pathological liars? And how do I know one when I see one?

Response: Pathological liars is aka pseudo-logia fantastica or mythomania. Pathological liars often lie when there is no need to, his lies unwarranted and uncalled for ... and bereft of any plausible reason. Their lies are gratuitous ...lacking in apparent cause or justification.  They succumb to lies and the invitation to fib is overwhelming and irresistible.

Making up stories becomes compulsive and made-up scenarios are large-scale and wide-ranging. The urge is relentless and uncontrollable it becomes a mortal sin if they can't lie in a day. Even if his habit of lying has already caused him a lot of misery and problems, there is no stopping this man ... even when he is on the precipice of getting caught.

Just to remind everybody, pathological liars are not included in the list of mental health diagnoses and DSM-5. But using the term pathological means there is underlying pathology or illness imbued why the person continues to lie. If a person lies 5 or ten times more in a day, he is included in this category

Responding To Netizen's Comment

Netizen: I have read your latest post about lying and gaslighting.  Is there any difference between the two?

Response: Why do people lie? Telling a lie is a defense mechanism.  The person's motivation for this is to protect themselves and avoid trouble.  People utilized this unconscious mechanism to avoid punishments or humiliation and maintain their privacy. Sometimes they have to lie to protect themselves from being judged. The act is not something admirable and it is easy to understand why people are using it because it is readily available.

Gaslighting on the other is venomous and hostile, bordering on malicious. The gaslighter deliberately attempt to rewrite your REALITY (anything you personally experienced) and inject a different memory into you. It goes further than lying as its motivation is not only to deceive but contradict and oppose what the person has seen or heard.

With gaslighting, there is an intent to mask the TRUTH, and things you saw are now being challenged and impugned. If the person cited you and question your sanity, and your memory and accused you of being forgetful and a basket case all your life and that your eyes and ears should not be trusted ... and you don't have the updated version of knowing what is reality and what is a fallacy.

Simply put, all gaslighting has to lie as the basic component, but not all lying is gaslighting.

When Somebody Believes In His Lies

People who have the habit of making LIES ... normal na lang sa kanya ang pagsinungaling ... like going to the bathroom when he feels like it ... or raiding the refrigerator when hunger pangs strike.

What is alarming is dahil normal na lang ito sa kanya, he doesn't have the slightest idea how his lies broke other people's hearts and they don't have an iota of cognizance of how his lies are affecting the people nearest to him. And the worst of all, dahil normal na lang ang fibbing sa kanya pati siya naniniwala na TOTOO ang mga kasinungalingan niya.

Sometimes he has to resort to gas-lighting to put more salt in the wound. An example of gas-lighting is when an abuser tries to control the victim by twisting their sense of reality. Can you imagine a guy shoplifting and then denying it happened?

Kailangan pa ba ang CCTV para patunayang sinungaling siya? At binaliktad pa nga ang situation ... ngayon siya na ang nagrereklamo sa reklamo mo  despite CCTV footages to verify the veracity of your claims.  He dismiss the accusation non-chalantly ... making you question your sanity: "Tama ba ako?... pero he denied it ... eh ano yong nakita ko sa TV screen? ... nagshoplift nga ba siya?" Poor gaslighting victim ... pati ang katinoan niya ... kinuquestion na niya!

When somebody vacillates to the extremes that anything abnormal becomes normal to him ... he should not dismiss it as a matter of a factly ... and treat that with a cavalier attitude because this is something out of line.

Pathological lying that segue into gaslighting is a symptom of various personality disorders, including antisocial, narcissistic, and histrionic personality disorders. Other conditions, such as borderline personality disorder, may also lead to frequent lies, but the lies themselves are not considered pathological.

Once a Liar ... Always A Liar

It is easy to forgive and forget ... ang mga taong ang pagkamali nila'y INAAMIN.

Compared sa mga taong caught in the act na ... SINUNGALING pa rin.

They don't feel sorry, that they fib and lie ... at pinagpilitan pa rin ang pagsinungaling,

They feel sorry, dahil sila'y nahuli mo ... at red-handed pa man din.

When Telling A Lie Becomes Normal

There is something I learned about people telling a LIE.  If they have done it before chances are he will do it again. The temptation and the thrill of fibbing are there ...until dishonesty becomes a habit. They feel falsehood becomes a necessity ... it becomes a normal part of their bodily function like breathing is.

It just pains me to see someone who is compulsive to lie ...  never felt terrible about themselves and what they do.

Lies Hurt

I can't help it.  When I catch somebody telling a lie, it makes me question the 100 stories he told me ... what percentage of them were lies?

I would instead be told the TRUTH ... (well it may HURT a little) but LIES will hurt till the memory has not been forgotten.

An HONEST BRAVE man for me is somebody who is straight-forward to tell me regardless of how painful the TRUTH is.  And the DISHONEST COWARD is somebody wearing a mask taking solace and refuge in DECEPTION and FALSEHOOD.

Short Circuit

I am not UPSET ... that you lied to me.

I am UPSET ... because from now on I will not trust you anymore.

I am SORRY ... that you don't like my HONESTY

But to be fair ... I don't like your LIES either.
