Glitch and Power Outage

Glitch is a wrong word used when talking about the January 1st fiasco at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport causing flight delays and cancellations, chaos, and confusion.

A computer glitch or blip is a sudden, usually temporary malfunction or irregularity of equipment. It was not temporary (since the problem dragged for days) and the way I see it is more of a shutdown ... a malfunction in the system, a hardware failure that causes that system to freeze, reboot, and make error messages. It was a disaster, a dangerous snafu and somebody did screw up big-time.

Commentaries

I don't want to sound too morbid, but I could not help but think of the possibilities in case there is a failure in air traffic control management or there is a glitch or a blip, or a power outage perhaps. H
ave you ever thought of a crash and the worst aviation disaster waiting to happen and God forbid ... a possible mid-air collision?

Air traffic management is carried out by air traffic controllers assisted by complex technical systems that provide them with visualization of the traffic situation. What happened last January 1 is a red flag and CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines) and the government should not take the incident matter of factly with a cavalier attitude.

Commentaries

CAAP and the government should not just shrug off their shoulder and take the Jan 1st NAIA incident disdainfully as if the situation is normal and not unusual. Aside from a possible aeronautics catastrophe, there's the problem of passengers having to deal with delayed or canceled flights, problems of rebooking and rerouting, problems on who will shoulder their hotel accommodations, their food, and how about the sardine-packed airports looking like a makeshift refugee camp?

And not to be forgotten are the international flights having to refuel or have stopovers in Manila ...  this is a big blow to  our tourism industry which already experienced severe beatings brought about by Covid.

Are The Stars Out Tonight -Randolf Stamatelaky and Niko Arellano

Not everybody has a chance to brush elbows with the stars in the entertainment, modeling, and pageant industries so when the invitation starts knocking at my door ... who am I to refuse. Others may frown at it ... but it is irresistible. Well-meaning friends have given us the opportunity on a silver platter (it is like allowing us to get something easily ... without having to work on it) so when I saw the window ... in basketball lingo - an opening ... all I did was to dribble the ball ... do the lay-up and shoot it for the much-needed money shot.

Barhopping with actor and model Randolf Stamatelaky -Manhunt Philippines candidate and Viva Hot Men Niko Arellano (who was a member of Men of Provoq) tried Mr. World Philippines and Mr. Bikini International before during his prime.
