"Naku may pinaparinggan na naman" sabi ng fan ... who interpreted it as an allusion to the way Duterte was arrested at NAIA.

Ako may tanong din sa mga taong salo ng salo ng mga issue na hindi naman sila ang pinagusapan? Katulad ng sitwasyon sa itaas ano ang tawag natin doon?

Imagine pati game show questions pinagdiskitahan ninyo na kayo ang target? Matindi naman ang tingin ninyo sa sarili ... na napakaimportante ninyo!

Kidding aside ... ang sagot sa tanong ay All Of The Above. Ideas of reference are a psychological phenomenon where individuals perceive normal, unrelated events or occurrences (in this case, a game show question) as significant and directly related to themselves. In Tagalog feeling nila sila ang pinaparinggan.

Laro lang ito mga tol. Pero kung ang reaksyon mo ay over the top at something beyond ordinary ... aba eh may "ideas of reference" ka na. Isang paligo na lang "paranoid ka na?

OK granted na ang arrest ni Digong ang pinapatungkolan ng sabihin ni Dingdong ang eroplano ... what is that to you at halos maglupasay ka na diyan sa galit or kaiiyak? It was simply a harmless game question.

Anything na hindi naman ikaw involved pero and reaction mo is something out of extraordinary, Red Flag yan ... Aba masamang simtoma na yan.

Whether you are Kapuso or Kapamilya or Kapatid or whatever denomination ...  we can all agree that Family Feud Philippines is one of the most entertaining game shows ever. The Philippine derivative had just started its second season ... even in America if news is to be believed it is destined to continue through 2026 ... a Golden Jubilee celebration being a 5oth year since it started in July 1967.

What other reasons has Family Feud Philippines become so popular?  Was it because of the host Dingdong Dantes? Was it because of his charisma, his boyish look despite his age ... his demeanor ... his attitude ... his genuine interaction with his fans ... his humor, or his intelligent adlibs that made the show free-wheeling ... animated ... zesty ... and effervescent.

As a true-blue ... laser-focused follower of Family Feud ... it looked like it.

How is Family Feud played? The Philippine version pits two groups (in America two families) mostly from the GMA stable ... but lately, they can be inclusive as beautiful and handsome men and women from pageantry are pouring in ... PPOP  and Pinoy bands are having the times of their lives and athletes have their own shares of the limelight. 

They have experimented with using two Pinoy families  ... but the idea was nipped in the bud. Was it because picky fans had their last say ... they prefer movie stars or TV personalities -instead of totally unknowns? I hope Family Feud can open its doors to more Kapamilya and Kapatid talents to have more diversity ... not unless there is a problem borrowing or lending talents because of network wars. Remember when It's Showtime hosts guested ... and their guesting erased whatever top rating record they have kept on their shelves.

Family Feud has two warring groups or families competing who beat who ... in answering the most popular responses to survey questions. Because the responses are pulled from actual surveys, the points assigned to each question correspond with how many people responded accordingly. Points are awarded for every correct answer, and the family with the highest number of points wins the game.

What makes this game special ... is for you to be alert and on guard. You are not supposed to be giving your own opinion here when you compete ... you have to think about what the average respondents have answered.  Their answer is what matters ... not what you think is the most popular.

As one friend says, Family Feud is a good equalizer.  It compels one to recoil and go down his ivory tower ... and pause to judge what other ordinary mortals think about the question in the survey. One has to drop down the attitude that his answers are the best. In order for you to win ... you have to be on the same page as the ordinary Juans. You have to pack up that bloated ego and go down to their level.

The way the questions were formulated has the formula to elicit answers that will make the host or the players blush deep crimson ... or make them freeze ... some were adamant and hesitant ... lest their answers were laced with sexual undertones and coloring. And they are wary ... because of being on national TV ... you have to be responsible.

Playing Family Feud has its positives too. Whether you are in a game or at work ... it improves cooperative teamwork ... responsiveness and people skills. More so it encourages the group to communicate effectively and develop problem-solving skills. It creates a combined, collective, joint, and shared effort ... as well as collaborative work for the members. It offers a fun environment and a much-needed break from monotonous routines. The game promotes brotherhood and comradeship and increases the member's emotional connectivity and positive engagement to help achieve the group's goal which is to win the game!

Why Family Feud Philippines Is Addicting?

Why do players go back to play Family Feud Philippines? And why does the audience jam-packed the show's gallery to the rafters? And why are audiences glued to their seat and patiently waiting for the show to air?

For players ... 

1. Participating is fun and engaging.

2. Team members get to know each other and build a sense of camaraderie.
