Amateurs VS Professionals

Let us compare amateurs and professionals... and on the next level let's differentiate successful people vis a vis the unsuccessful ones.

Amateurs ... BLAMES OTHERS for their shortcomings while professionals ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY for their faults.

Amateurs want to SPRINT for success ... while professionals think of success as a MARATHON.

Amateurs work until they got it RIGHT ... while professionals work until they can't get it WRONG.

Amateurs have P5000 working gear... while professionals content on P500 ones.

Amateurs discuss TACTICS ... while professionals discuss LOGISTICS.

Amateurs built the ARK ... while professionals built the TITANIC.

Amateurs wait for INSPIRATION to make them work ... while professionals get up and go to work.

Amateurs (when things are hard) think about QUITTING ... while professionals have a NEVER SAY DIE attitude.

Amateurs work only when they feel they have to ... while professionals work because it is their bread and butter.

Amateurs want other members to FAIL ... while professionals want others to join the league and SUCCEED.

And lastly, everybody thinks that hiring a professional is expensive ... wait until you hire an amateur to finish the job. (See the post below)

Which Group Are You Hanging Out With - Amateurs or Professionals>

I have an orchard, the problem was ... our soil is clay and when it is raining it is kind of gooey, Besides the plants, doesn't grow well in clay,  so I decided to have divided the area into plots.  The first 3 plots were done by a professional using hollow blocks and they placed bonbon soil instead since plants grow well in them.  The next 3 plots were done by us amateur carpenters so we can save some money.  We also used hollow blocks and bonbon to make it uniform.

The finished plots show the difference - the appearance, the durability, and the manner the plots were done were poles apart and made us realize even if we shell more expensively with professionals, it is undeniably worth our while and our money.

What is the difference? Actually, there is more difference than meets the eye.   More than we realized.

- Amateurs cringe when they hear comments or somebody critiques their work.  Professionals thrive on criticism, they even seek comments so they will know their weak spots.

-Amateurs value once in a blue moon good performance.  Professionals value constancy, regularity, steadiness, and consistency. If a professional has a batted average of 4 to 5 they are satisfied (as compared to 1 to 5 with amateurs)

-Amateurs surrender and raise the white flag when the roads are bumpy.  Professionals see the situation as a challenge and a good opportunity to prove their worth.

-Amateurs concentrate on finding their strengths and stop right there as they get contended. On the other hand, professionals monitor their weaknesses and seek to improve them, and they identify their strengths as well and hone them for good.

-Amateurs think good performance is pure luck. Professionals think good performance is the result of their brilliance and the effort they exerted in practice.

-Amateurs have only short-term goals.  Professionals have long-term goals

-Amateurs blame others when something has fallen flat.  Professionals accept blame and responsibility/

-Amateurs want to go fast and quick.  Professional wants to go slow but sure.

-Amateurs think the first thing that comes to mind is the best idea. Professionals think the first idea is barely and rarely the real Mccoy.

You see everything boils down to mindset. Which group yields a better result depends on somebody's viewpoint. If you are going to ask me, I will go with professionals.
