So can a STATE WITNESS be a STAR WITNESS?

A star witness, on the other hand, is a witness whose testimony is crucial and highly impactful to the case, often due to their compelling narrative, unique knowledge, or significant credibility.

Going back to the Marcoletas and the Discayas of the world ... the public perception was that something was brewing between these two.

One netizen said: "There was a MAR-DIS (Marcoleta - Discaya) deal." Meaning a backdoor deal between the two of them.

Indeed, public perception between these two is growing increasingly negative.  While reading the comments of netizens, I personally selected the naughty but amusing ones.

-It looked like Marcoleta is the Discaya's lawyer.

-There's something fishy about their unholy alliance.

-Marcoleta insists (almost fighting with Ping Lacson) that everybody should follow the rules. Too bad ... despite all his protests ... he is no longer the chairman.

-Was there bad blood between Lacson and Marcoleta? It looked like the latter resented the former... was that because Ping replaced him as Chairman of the Blue Ribbon?

-Marcoleta is very protective of Curlee and Sara. Maybe Marcoleta has something to hide ... that the Discaya knows.

-Why is Marcoleta lawyering for them? Senator ba siya or abogado nila?

-It is apparent whose side Marcoleta is on.

-One netizen hinted a Marcoleta advocacy: "Nakaw now ... State Witness Later Program

-Marcoleta is obviously hiding something. You can easily tell by looking at his hair.

-Marcoleta is not the senator ng mga Pinoy ... senator siya ng mga Discaya.

-DDS si Marcoleta? - Discaya's Diehard Supporter?

-Marcoleta is worried about the Discaya. Or was he worried para sa kanya o sa mga Duterte?

-Is it okay to steal and become a state witness?

-Mabait si Marcoleta sa mga Discaya despite money evaporating in thin air ... pero galit siya sa ABS CBN na wala namang ginawang pagnanakaw.

-Corrupt daw ang ABS CBN dahil hindi daw ito nagbayad ng mga taxes ... ngayon reversal of roles na siya.  Tagapagtanggol siya ng mga corrupt.

Kayo Na Naman?

 

"I did it my way ..." at tuluyan na ngang KUMANTA si  Engineer Henry Alcantara. Although mukhang disintunado pa ... at hindi pang-finals sa Pinoy Idol ... or The Voice ... pinatunayan niyang marunong din pala siyang BUMIRIT. 

Pwede pasar na yong kanyang mga runs and riffs ... pero yong kanyang mga improvisational musical phrases makikita mo ang character ... it added flair and personality to his song. 

He made his sinumpaang salaysay his own ... although at times it is drowned by pregnant sobs and sighs which are distracting ... nonetheless in totality ... his performance is worthy of Pinoys' support, especially those leaning to mawkish and schmaltzy stories ... or a tear-jerking melodramas.

The dynamics of his storytelling vacillate from crescendo to decrescendo ... at times mezzo-pianissimo, but when he was almost knocking at the doorstep of the song's refrain  ... (hudyat na ikanta na niya ang mga pangalan) ... it was all-out fortissimo.

And when the names were out in the open ... there was a drum-roll - a rainbow of emotions sprang up sa mga TV viewers - shock ... surprise ... disappointment ... upset ... relief ... all rolled into one. Totally nerve-wracking and jaw-dropping.

We have seen the previous episodes of this political saga ... and we were privy to all the phony denials ... we have seen the frayed nerves displayed in panavision ... the fiery rebuttals ... the heated confrontations ... the passionate repudiation all recorded 3-D in national TV ... pagkatapos ito pa rin pala ang ending?

At this juncture ... the accused have enough on their plate. Pati rin siguro sila nabigla ... and adding more salt to the wound... they were not around to see and hear how Henry Alvantara belted his "Greatest Performance Of his Life." Nandoon sila sa hearing ng Independent Bommision On Infrastructure.

Just like how I ended my post the other day ... SINADYA ba or COINCIDENCE lang? ITINAON ba ... or NAGKATAON lang na wala sila ... to spare them the biggest jolt this side of their political career.

Marcos Resign?

Last Sunday nagkakalat na naman ang mga DDS. They were calling BBM to RESIGN.

Ang ibig sabihin ba niyan kung magresign nga si BBM sino ba ang ipapalit? E di sino pa kundi si Manang Inday? Kaya pala. How TRANSPARENT can they be?

Naiintriga din si VP sa kung ang taxpayers (na naman) ang nagso-shoulder ng kanyang mga international trips ... mabilis pa sa alas kuatro ang sagot ng mga online supporters na HINDI.

Si VP daw ang mismong gumagastos ng kanyang mga ticket at accomodation.  Weeeeee. Ang hindi lang maliwanag kung kasama din doon sa gastos niya ang kanyang mga entourage at security na nag-eenjoy na rin sa kanilang experience na mangibang bayan.

Sa budget hearing iniisaisa ni Inday ang mga international vacation she made in last few months. Granted na siya nga ang bumabayad sa kanyang plane tickets and hotels. Pero sa kanyang delegasyon hindi man lang umurong ang kanyang dila sa gastos ng kanyang mga kasama na halos aabotin na ng milyon. 

Talking about entitlement. "Deserve namin ito" is just way out of line. Sa isang mahirap na bansa ... sabi ng isang netizen ... "this is propesterous. Nagwawaldas ng milyon?"

Sept 21, 2025 ... ang araw na dapat sana ay kakampi natin at kaagapay si VP against corruption. And just like kung may bagyo ... wala man lang warning bigla na naman nating narinig na lumipad na naman siya sa Japan? Jet-setter talaga.

Aba mga Pinoy ... iyan ba ang ugali kaya gusto ninyo siyang ibalik sa 2028 .... ang iiwan kayo sa gitna ng mga problema? Hindi lang minsan nagyari yan. It becomes a habit. With all due respect... Nagtatanong lang po.

 The creative team of Miss Ahtisa Manalo, who will soon be competing in Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, is in a frantic mood about what kind of gimmick they will resort to ...to make her participation competitive. 

They were pouring all their creative juices into coming up with the most ingenious and innovative national costume she would wear, one that would jolt the senses of the whole universe, which was expected to draw a beeline just to witness who could dress their selected candidates in the most imaginative national costume possible.

To select a national costume for Miss Universe Philippines, Ahtisa should hold a "powwow" with her team of experts to conceptualize a design that best represents Filipino culture and heritage.

The theme could be any Filipino mythology and folklore, which will provide a framework for creating elaborate but symbolic costumes, with emphasis placed on artistic craftsmanship and the story the costume tells. 

The goal is to create a costume, not a traditional  "national attire" that will allow significant creative freedom to express the country's diverse culture. 

Or the costume could be anything that demonstrates and makes the Philippines unique ... it can even carry a message with political coloring. 

The costume can even discuss something related to current political events... or it could be an attire created as an instrument to showcase some dark realities of their lives.
