Question: There is a mistaken notion that chicken feed like Integra "makes" the egg. Is that true?

Answer: No.  Chicken feeds do not necessarily MAKE the egg. There is a big difference between MAKE and STIMULATE.

Chicken feeds do not make the egg ... but they stimulate and provide the necessary nutrients for a hen to produce eggs through natural biological processes; essentially, the hen's body uses the nutrients from the feed to "nourish the egg, not the feed itself forming the egg."

Yes, the type of chicken feed you provide significantly impacts whether a chicken will lay eggs, as a proper "layer feed" contains the necessary nutrients like calcium, vitamins, and protein that are crucial for egg production; essentially, while feed alone doesn't "make" a chicken lay eggs, a good quality layer feed provides the essential building blocks for healthy egg development. 

As explained before ... female chickens are born with thousands of immature yolk (ova) in their ovaries.

These yolks develop into eggs over time. Poultry owners used chicken feeds to provide the necessary building blocks for egg creation in the chicken's body.

A Slip Of The Tongue?

 An occasional slip of the tongue ... or a slip of the pen is normal and is quickly forgiven by the person listening or reading... that is ... if they even notice it. Even when they do, most people most of the time will recognize a slip of the tongue or pen for what it is and realize that what you meant to say or write ... is not what you did say or write.

The actress was reminiscing the good old days with his ex by scanning an old photo album. She was almost teary-eyed ... it was a very poignant scene ... until she said this line:

"These images in the album INVOKE nostalgia ... some bitter-sweet memories of the past."

If you are not listening well because you got distracted by the pathos of the dramatic scene... you missed the slip of the tongue. Instead of using INVOKE ... the better word is EVOKE.

Evoke is to bring or recall (a feeling, memory, or image) to the conscious mind. It means to elicit a response. or bring a scenario or an emotion into your mind.

While invoke is to call on (a deity or spirit) for instance in a prayer, as a witness for inspiration. It means you pray to, plead with, beseech, implore, or supplicate. It also means to cite or appeal to (someone or something) as an authority for an action or in support of an argument.

Somebody differentiated the two terms: "When you evoke something, you draw it out, be it an action or emotion but when you invoke something, you call upon it. An easy way to remember it is that when you invoke a being or person, their presence will evoke a feeling or reaction from you."

Invoke means “to call upon” or “to mention,” and is often used when someone is identifying a law, a privilege, or an authority, as in “invoke previous court decisions.” Evoke can mean both “to bring to mind” as in “evoke memories” and “to cause to happen,” as in “evoked laughter from the crowd.”

Marcoleta VS Enzo Recto

Out of the 41 or so bloggers who were invited as resource speakers in the Tricom initiative to talk about fake news ... MAL-INFORMATION ... & MIS-INFORMATION ... only 4 came to attend.

Galit na galit ang mga congressmen. Isang sa kanila challenged them to come out in the open: "Ang tapang tapang ninyo ... at pinagmumura at tinoturoan ninyo kami sa mga channels ninyo"

Pero hanggang sa channel lang ninyo pala ang TAPANG ninyo ...  DUWAG pala kayo humarap sa kung sino ang tinutuligsa ninyo."

Mayroon kasi sa mga invited reource person ang pinagyayabang pa at sarcastically jump with joy saying: "Ay makita ko na si Mr. Dan Fernandez ... o si Benny Abante."

Parang pinagmalaki pang ... this will be an opportunity of a lifetime na makipag-debate sila sa kanila. Isang duelo of the year baga.

Huwag ka ... YABANG lang pala ang TAPANG nila ...dahil instead na pumunta sila sa hearing ...  sa Supreme Court sila tumuloy asking for protection and help.

First-day pa lang ng hearing ... the ComSec have been deluged with excuse letters stating na hindi daw sila maka-attend. (reminiscent of our old elementary days ... na gumawa tayo ng sulat kung bakit tayo nag-absent.)

Some feign sudden illnesses ... and still others manage to dodge the exercise following the footsteps of their poster boy/mentor spokesman Harry Roque. 

Either magtago or mangibang bansa.  Turo daw yan ni master.

Sa umpisa pa lang hamang ... parang nababasa na ng mga You Tubers where the hearing is headed. Maraming mga congressmen sounded like they have a "bone to pick" or they have a grievance they want to talked about ... sakaling ang mga taong imbitado nila will show up.

Mukhang nawiwindang na nga sila at naging balat-sibuyas na ang ilan dahil minumura na sila, hinihiya or belittled.

At palagi na lang nila kinuquestion nila why Congress is so fixated with hearings and investigations. Ang linyang "inquiries in aid of legislation" to them ... is nothing but a pure witch hunt.

Ang hindi maintiendihan ng lahat na ang congressmen is mandated to conduct investigations in aid of its legislative functions. 

The inquiries in aid of legislation are, inter alia, undertaken as tools to enable the legislative body to gather information and, thus, legislate wisely and effectively. 

This will determine whether there is a need to improve existing laws or enact new or remedial legislation, albeit the inquiry need not result in any potential legislation.

Merong kantiyaw ang isa kong kaibigan who was also watching the proceedings. Mukhang mainit na at tensiyonado kasi ang lahat sa umpisa.

Sabi niya bago matapos ang araw na ito ... merong na namang congressman ang buong ningning na magmotion na ipa-contempt ang invited resource speaker nila. 

Sabi ko: "walang mangyaring ganyan. Di ba 94 percent sa kanila ay no show?"

Looking at the list of called vloggers (just like scrolling the menu list sa isang karinderya), mga 3 or 4 sa imbitado ay hindi DDS vloggers. Eh bakit naman may mga matinong bloggers na pinatawag rin? 

Perhaps they want to give balance to the list para hindi magmukhang  one sided ang lahat. 

Or baka naman may iba pang congresista from the other side of the fence na na-torete na sa content ng mga vlogs ng mga kalaban at ito na ang time para sila ay rumesbak.

I was surprise to see Ricky Tomotorgo aka Enzo Recto - a no-non-sense vlogger ... isang Kakampink ... magalang ... hindi nagmumura ... not hard hitting pero nararamdaman pa rin ang latay ng kanyang mga salita.

Noong isinalang na siya ... hindi niya akalain na ang maka-daupang palad niya ay si SAGIP congressman Rodante Marcoleta. 

E di tama nga ang hinala namin na may nagrequest na isama siya sa mga imbitado?  Na may isang congressman na palihim pala na nagbabasa ng mga vlogs niya at siya ay minamanmanan?

Ang mechanics pala sa hearing ... kailangan i-introduce pala muna ang sarili ng resource speaker. Doon natin nalaman na si Enzo Recto ay lawyer pala ... at nagtuturo soya sa law school sa Ateneo ... at member siya ng Bunyog Partylist.

Hindi niya akalain na sa pagintroduce niya sa kanyang sarili ... pwede palang gamitin itong ammunition para ipahiya siya later on. Words like ... "Abogado ka nga ba?" Or nagtuturo ka pala sa law school bakit hindi mo kayang i-substantiate ang mga accusations mo?" 

Pati lumang issue sa ABS CBN isinama na at halatang pinaghandaan siya: "Ano ang panlilinlang doon ... ni hindi mo alam ang Philippine depository receipts ... ang corporate layering ... hindi mo alam ang transfer pricing para magkaroon ng tax evasion thru Big Dipper..."

Atty. Ricky was made to appear para sindakin siya at hiyain. To the congressman, it is like giving him a dose of his own medicine. 

He entered the lion's den ... at wala siyang alam what to expect. Or bakit siya naroon.  Basta nakita niya na lang na nandoon si Cong Marcoleta na nanlilisik ang mata (oh if looks could kill.) Lumalalim tuloy ang glabellar lines niya at vertical wrinkles niya sa forehead (na according to experts signs daw ito ng resentment, anger at frustrations) sa mga pinagsusulat ng mga kritiko sa kanya.

Enzo was caught offguard... nagmukha siyang basang sisiw sa pagkabigla.

Muntik ng nahulog ang kaibigan namin sa kanyang silya, because the congressman was livid dahil piniling manahimik na lang ni Enzo. 

"Saan ba ang panlilinlang doon ni hindi mo nga alam kung bakit kinansel ang prankisa ng ABS CBN." his voice booming  in the four corners of the room.

"Attorney daw siya ... attorney nga ba? eh hindi nga niya ma-substantiate kung saan ang panlilinlang doon?" he added.

Dahilan ni Enzo ... ano pa ba ang dahilan para sagotin niya ito. Teritoryo nila iyon. 

Eh kung sagotin niya yon ... yong ibang congressmen who looked sympathetic and supportive sa sitwasyon niya ... baka ma-alienate niya pa. 

I don't want him to risk it. And I am glad he did.

Nagiging tampulan tuloy ng kantiyaw ng mga trolls si Enzo Recto. "Akala ko ba matapang ka ..." pangungutya nila.

See the dynamics? Inimbita na nga sila sa Congress para pagusapan ang fake news and their demeanor habang nakipag-debate in the web pero sigi pa rin sila sa dating gawi. Walang holiday ang mga binayarang trolls.

Bilang outsider looking in ... Enzo has proven his TAPANG. The fact na hindi siya nagibang bansa to evade attending the Tricom hearing ... speaks of his bravery and his courage.

The "icing on the cake" of today's proceeding happened when Cong Marcoleta asked Enzo Recto to apologize. 

Comment ng kaibigan ko: Dahil binuksan niya ang topic ng pagsara ng ABS CBN di ba dapat siya ang mag-apologize sa mga Filipino na tinaggalan niya ng source of entertainment at the time ng pandemic na tatlong taon parang nasa piitan at mistulang mga preso sa kanilang bahay. 

The act was cruel if not vicious. Nagmamakaawa ang mga tao na huwag po at marami na ang mga case ng suicide ... at ang depression reaches an alltime high dahil walang magawa ang tao sa bahay ... tapos tinaggalan pa sila ng source of amusement at distraction dala ng pandemya. Not to mention the people na tinangalan nila ng kabuhayan at source of livelihood.

Siya ang dapat mag-apologize .. pero may short term memory yata si CONG.

The attorney-vlogger refused to apologize ... because he said he was just stating an opinion. Dito nagalit si Cong.

And my friend was right ... ginamit na naman ang Russian roulette ng Congress ... ang ipa-contempt ang kawang vlogger..

Pero miracles happen sa mgga kampon ng kabutihan. Sino ba naman ang mag-akala na umeeksena si Cong sa Tricom hearing ... e hindi naman pala siya member ng committee?

Noong ginawa niya ang motion para i-contempt si Attorney ... nakakapigil hininga ang eksena ... (parang eksena sa Incognito) noong senabi ni Dan Fernandez ang "Did somebody second the motion? 

Walang umiimik. Kasi hindi pala member si sir ng committee.

Sumatutal sino ba ang nanalo sa debateng Marcoleta VS Enzo Recto? Totoo ... parang natameme si Enzo sa pagkabigla sa mga tanong ni Cong. And who wouldn't?

Pero dahil hindi natuloy ang pag-contempt at walang man lang isang congressman ang nag-supporta sa motion ni Rodante ... parang mas napahiya si Marcoleta.
