Overthinking and Over Analyzing


To define OVERTHINKING, in a humorous context and sense, is when your brain turns a simple "yes/no" question into a six-year Batang Quiapo teleserye, creating a convoluted worst-case-scenario storyline, and wonders if the people will form a queue to patronize it.

Then you created problems from thin air, getting stuck in "what if" loops, and get drowned in hypotheticals that sound so unreal until you reach the ANALYSIS PARALYSIS plateau, and you throw your hands in the air, almost giving up.

Analysis paralysis is a state where a person is over-analyzing or overthinking thoroughly a situation to the point of suffocation. This will make the person unable to reach a decision, and no plans of action were made.

Overthinking and overanalyzing make the person create an excessive number of choices (the more the merrier pero hindinaman dapat ) dahil nakakatakot din pag maraming ang mapagpilian because it can create fear that he might choose the wrong one. This can cause a person to become stuck, unable to move sa kumunoy ng kanyang kabaliwan.

I have one funny example of people who overthink (sometimes they are called EXPERT ANALYSTS). By the way, are they really called experts, or are they the CRAZY ANALYSTS?

Overthinking takes its toll when you try to comb through the islands from Aparri to Jolo to find a good lawyer who will defend you in your jaywalking case. You research the lawyers far and wide ... and you scrutinize their personal and professional qualifications ... their expertise and experience ... their reputation and track record. Don't you think that's over-the-top preparation for a jaywalking offense?

When someone overthinks ... he worries about his FUTURE.

In the same vein, he ruminates about the PAST ... and overthinking makes it difficult for him as the two time frames clash with each other, making him paralyzed and unable to decide.

This is how overtinking operates.

When the other half of your brain says LET IT GO ... the other half says no ...I WILL HANG ON and let me overthink this (we don't know how long ... lest he might regret it if he decides quick).

The overthinker has two frames of mind.

1. He is always in trepidation, fussing about the little details.

2. And he always worries about not-so-important things.

Overthinking is like a rocking chair.

You can sit on it, fasten your seatbelt, but you won't enjoy the ride. It doesn't get you anywhere ... or help you progress or succeed in any way.

Overthinking too much ... is a disease.

You dont have to see how the ESCALATOR works. All you need is to make ... that first step and move! See, using the escalator is not bad and hard enough.
