Hello October

There is just too much expectation I feel in this month of October.  Something like something special is going to happen.

I am hopelessly hopeful. Hope is not a dream ... but a way of making dreams become a reality. Hope doesn't have an expiration date ... if you fail the first time ... take a deep breath and try again.

Nang Dahil Sa Pera

This homily teaches us the stark reality - that we love money more than anything else ... the reality (that we love money) is the inner truth  ... it is unpleasant or difficult to deal with ... kaya kung minsan ang hirap lunukin.

Imagine being reminded that money is slowly ... but surely eroding our lives ... is one reality that one could not accept. At the back of our minds alam natin na totoo ito but some of us ... still manage to convince ourselves na sobra naman ito ... pero hindi rin natin maisantabi na kasalukuyang nangyayari ito sa buhay natin ... one time or another.  Nagpapalusot pa tayo.

Di ba mas maganda na lang kung AMININ na lang ... and do something na huwag na itong lumala. Ito ang summary ng homily ... nang dahil sa pera ... buhay natin nagkaletse letse.

1. Nang dahil sa pera ... NANLOLOKO ka na.

2. Nang dahil sa pera ... NAGNANAKAW ka na.

3. Nang dahil sa pera ... NANGAGRABIYADO ka na.

4. Nang dahil sa pera ... NAGYAYABANG ka na.

5. Nang dahil sa pera ... naging MALUHO ka na.

6. Nang dahil sa pera ... naging MATERIALISTIC ka na.

7. Nang dahil sa pera ... NANGMAMATA kana ng iba.

8. Nang dahil sa pera ... NAMIMILI ka ng iyong sasamahan at gusto mong pakitungohan.

9. Nang dahil sa pera ... TRABAHO ka na lang nang trabaho.

10. Nang dahil sa pera ... NAPABAYAAN mo na ang iyong relasyon sa pamilya kasi wala ka nang panahon sa kanila.

Waka ka na ring mabuting magawa sa kapwa mo, sa iyong sarili, sa pamilya mo at pati na rin sa Diyos. Nakalimutan mo na ang magdasal ... at pati Linggo hindi ka na makapagsimba dahil puno ang schedule mo sa mga activities that involves money. Puro na lang pera ... pera ... pera.

And the worst nang dahil sa pera lunod na lunod ka sa utang, yong bang ang tingin mo sa pamilya mo, at sa mga kaibigan mo ... responsable sila sa mga kailangan mo sa buhay. Saan ka ba makakita ng ganoon?

Look at yourself in the mirror ... kung walo sa itaas ay totoo at kasalukuyang  nangyayari sa buhay mo ... there is no doubt about it ... ALIPIN ka na ng pera.

Maraming salamat Fr. Fidel Roura. Medyo may kirot man ang latay ng iyong pananalita (dahil truth hurts talaga)... at walang preno man ang iyong bibig ... pero na appreciate ko ang mga sinasabi mo. At sana kaming lahat ay handa ring kalosin ang mga SOBRA at KULANG sa aming mga pakitungo sa kapwa, sa pamilya, sa sarili at sa Diyos.

It looked like the CONFIDENTIAL funds for the office of VP  is not CONFIDENTIAL anymore. What used to be a conversation piece behind closed doors becomes an open book and everybody is talking about it.

What is this we heard that there is a rift in the UniTeam and no less than the Speaker of the House and the VP are not seeing eye to eye. UNITEAM ... no unity no more?

United we STAND ... divided we FALL?

The Story Thickens

The volatile situation in the West Philippine Sea has opened a can of worms. After the Philippine Coastguard removed the barriers placed by China in some WPS hotspots ...  there seems to be a domino effect in the structure and the way the congressmen think in the house.  Where before everybody was all for pampering the OVP with luscious confidential funds to the tune of 125 Million pesos spent only in the span of 11 days ... now they pull back and are singing a different tune.

And what is this we heard from the grapevine ... that the House scraps OVP's suggestion to have a 500 million confidential fund and the money earmarked for OVP and DepEd was stripped off and will be redirected to agencies whose functions are directly related to protecting the national security like the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), National Security Council (NSC), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Start heating the popcorn and keep the noise popping ... I don't want to miss this for the world.

I think the biggest bulk of credit should go to the unrelenting and unwavering support of the netizens and the Filipino people to the men and women in the Coast Guard and the navy protecting the West Philippine Sea.

Hindi talaga nagpatinag at patuloy na kinakalampag ng mga tao ang kanilang mga keyboard to show their outrage and dismay that while the Coast Guard is battling the pesky Chinese excursion ... some government officials are oblivious and are more concerned about the money they will get sa kaban ng bayan ... than being involved in a not so important matter like the invasion of the Scarborough Shoal.

Because of our vigilance and active citizenry, the constant beating of the drums for freedom and responsible governance made a dent on the collective conscience in the House that stripping the OVP of their confidential funds is one good way to fund the agencies that help the coast guard and the military.
