We have a lot of highlights and sidelights in the show. I was there in the driver's seat observing the young guys separating their on-screen persona and comparing them with how they handled doing a mall show and how they reacted to the screaming fans that were all over the place.
Sean Tristan is the newest in the group, so he opened the show ... the last one to perform was the Star of The Show ... obviously. As a neophyte, it was a baptism of fire for him as he has a lot of awkward moments but his participation was A-okey. The group's ensemble is to sing one song coming from backstage ... serenade the audience on the platform and then go to the floor to have a photo with the already shrieking fans whose jugular veins engorged and protruded due to overuse of their vocal chords.
Raven Rigor followed, and the guy had a good rapport with the audience. From the stage, he went down the stairs accompanied by a bevy of security men ... who come in handy. The fans had a photo op with him ... and Raven was a good sport because he allowed himself to be pinched and did what he does best ... showing his dimples to the delight of the audience. There were giggles galore ... he even had the obligatory close-up shots where he had his face glued to the fan's face ... photo opportunity with fans who were not contented with having Raven's hands on their shoulder ... but wanted more skin-to-skin contact and intimate moments.
Daniella Stranner was a revelation. Based on her bitchy "don't mess with me" persona in Senior High and the oh-so-confident influencer in Fractured where her boyfriend was stolen by her best friend Kaori ... what we saw is what we get. Her onscreen roles were misconstrued as being her true self ... and seeing her in flesh and blood ... make you feel guilty you were quick to judge her. She even allowed herself to be carried by Mr. Guimaras 2023 in one of the games who she knew only when he was called to participate. The lesson of the day ... "Don't judge the book by its cover."
Jeremiah Lisbo was the "jock of all trades" being a good basketball player himself. And no one can't deny he has a good gene running in his blood based on his towering height, breeding, musculature, and good looks. He dwarfed any men placed side by side with him and the fact of the matter he won an international male pageant (Zalora Model 2018) by virtue of his talent and "face value." When he alighted from the stage my eardrums shattered as thousands of shrill voices from adoring supporters made a concerted chant ... once done in unison is guaranteed to make your ears bleed.
Kaori Oinuma is a Japina and her sweet fragile facade makes you wonder how she survives the showbiz jungle. She threw love signs in the air ... finger hearts emojis ... flying kisses here and there ... and the fans willingly obliged. She was the only one where the audience participated actively in the song she belted ... and her collaboration and exchange with the crowd made her look like somebody guided her well in how she could successfully manage the audience.
Seth Fedelin is supposed to be the Star of the show ... being the most senior and the most experienced. While the noise from the crowd reached its crescendo when he started his sing-and-dance routine ... it looked like it is overwhelming for him. The introduction was big enough ... and the audience response of the audience was loud enough - roaring shrieking, howling ... but why do I feel something is off.
His body language conveyed... he is uncomfortable with the big treatment the fans have prepared for him. When he went down off the stage ... everybody started being unruly as they elbowed each other to get a better glimpse of him and made every effort to have a selfie with him. Sensing trouble, Seth resisted and avoided the crowd. I was even expecting he would run for cover... though I don't blame them for having that reaction. I guess it was a survival instinct. But I heard a fan saying "Naku ... ang suplado naman."
I know Seth did not mean it that way. However, it was a big let-down and it could have been more successful if he had tagged along and played with the fans.
