When everything has been cleared off and the family member who has wronged us took the high road and admit blame and responsibility for what he did ... the whole process of healing will not be complete unless everybody decides to forgive and forget,
Although this is hard to achieve, everybody decided to continue not being angry about something that someone has done and not allow their memory to influence their future relationship.
Do you truly forgive if you don't forget? Well ... forgiving is not forgetting. You can forgive someone of the wrongdoing ... but it doesn't mean that one will forget or cease to remember the emotional pain and the trauma he experienced.
Forgiving requires strength. Gandhi once said “The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." It takes a strong person to face pain head-on, forgive, and release anger.
