I believe that. Campaigning and debating are almost identical to courting the voters and winning their hearts. it is like getting to know a man, in this case, the candidates, spending time together, learning about each other, and ultimately making the decision if marriage is in the future, in this case, the position of presidency.
I don't call it panliligaw kung ang klase ng ligaw niya is ligaw -tingin lang, or palipad hangin lang. I don't call it courting if the man doesn't make the effort of being available when the situation calls for it. Panliligaw thru texting, I don't feel the sincerity. Much more when they are applying for the highest job in the land and they are not even available when the voters they said they are courting is expecting them to be present. We usually feel na-Indian tayo or na-bola. (This applies to all ten of them)
Panliligaw thru social media, and TV ads, I don't feel the candor and the genuineness in it. What the voters want is seeing their suitors in flesh and blood where you could almost feel his warmth, the passion, and the zeal. Paano mo buksan ang puso mo sa taong -wala? At Paano mo sasagotin ang taong nanliligaw na sinadyang hindi darating dahil may bumulong sa kanyang ... "huwag ..."
Same thing with the debates, if your suitor is not there kesyo ayaw niyang humarap sa parents mo, kesyo meron siyang ibang appointments, did you feel we you were disrespected when they didn't show up? Di ba para kang tinabangan? Or na-budol. Again this comment is directed to all ten of them.
