How a direct person tells a story vs how an informative person tells a story. Nothing to do with gender, but with personality and interaction style.

This is so true. Girls get it first time. Boys need to be told so many different ways before the penny drops

My maternal grandfather would sit patiently for a few minutes while grandma was in a story and then abruptly get up saying he had to check on whatever came to mind. And out the door with the dog he'd go.

Not true at all. When my husband tells a story he is always getting side tracked. I have to reel him back in to keep him on track!!

My wife is telling me something for 10 minutes. Then comes those dreadful words “Anyway, the bottom line is….” This is the phrase that tells me I better sit and get comfortable because there’s at least another 30 minutes of explanation coming up.

Wrong. I tell a story that stays on track. My husband and his father provide detail and diversion to exhaustion.

I have learned to respect what my wife has to say without looking at my phone. It makes for a more pleasant weekend.

My wife started telling me a story by saying listen to this! It began at 8:05 am
She had us across Cananda, back via the USA , swung up north back home, just in time for supper! ,and not once did she ever mentioned the name of the person she was talking about
