The history of our country has always been fascinating. All the way to the censorship and revisions done during the colonial era, to the downright betrayal of Filipinos to our very own countrymen. Some may not even know why Bonifacio died, or how the precolonial filipinos wear gold all over their bodies.
They say winners write history, but when would we feel that we deserve to know the actual events happening on both sides of the coin. History never existed for us to like (or dislike), but for us to understand why we are where we are, and hopefully learn.
Some would claim that there has always been partial truths and changes on how history has been told; but it is why it is being studied constantly, methodologically, scientifically.
"Partial truth" is a sugar-coated term for a lie. And if you consider gossips and lies as part of your history, you have a problem there. Our history is based on facts of actual events and not gossips and make-believe fantasies, keep your opinion to yourself.
As a Filipino, we deserve to know the whole truth, and not the perception of the victors being forced as a reality.
