Question: Regarding your entry "The Irony of Life" ... Is it human nature not to be content with what we have?
Response: It is human nature that we can't really be happy and content with what we have. We rarely see a person who has no desire to obtain more or to do better.
We all long to have more, more than what we really have, and even more than what others have.
Give someone a beautiful wife, a budding career, a mansion, and still, you find that the vessels of their desire never get filled.
Even if all your wishes were to come true, it won't last very long, and soon enough you'd be wanting something more. or something different.
We are not capable of achieving satisfaction, relief, and contentment. Our thirst for more is unquenchable!
We are a bottomless pit!
