Clarita Carlos, a retired University of the Philippines professor is in the eye of the storm. She managed to scratch the ire of netizens for her condescending statement, following the release of the 2020/2021 Bar Examination which was released last April 12. when she said the country doesn't need more lawyers
“Not to rain on anyone’s parade…but, me thinks we need more scientists, engineers and doctors…not more lawyers!”
However, her post was now deleted last April 13 when it took record-high negative reactions/comments not to mention shares.
Carlos responded in an online interview that she deleted the post a day after reading several "nasty and sleazy" comments.
"I had articulated similar views years and years ago," she said. "I post to engender rational discussion, not comments full of bile and venom," adding that Facebook supposedly "no longer serves the purpose of connecting human beings but instead fomenting hatred, vileness, ill will."
The most revered UP professor made her comeback recently when she served as a panelist at the SMNI presidential debate last February.
She also became a sensation when in one SMNI one on one interview she asked the unsuspecting BBM point-blank if he is Machiavellian (a term that stemmed from Niccolo Machiavelli who penned the political dissertation The Prince)
Carlos first made a splash on social media after serving as a panelist at the SMNI presidential debates last Feb. 15.
She next made headlines on March 26 during the network's presidential interviews, where she asked Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. if he's Machiavellian, derived from Niccolò Machiavelli who wrote the political treatise The Prince.
