The winners of Mister Pilipinas Worldwide 2025, who will be competing this year in international pageants assigned to them. Putsa .... walang itulak kabigin!

Can we say the same thing sa mga line up ng senators na ating iboboto sa Lunes? May napupusuan ka na ba ... or sumasakit ang ulo at walang kang mapagpilian?

Kung sa beauty pageants pinipili natin yong may face value, beterano, matatalino, magaling sa pasarela at nanlalamon ng mike ,,, bakit hindi natin maiapply ang ganitong pamantayan sa politika?

Huwag na nating irequire yong face card para hindi tayo maresbakan.  More often than not ang namamayagpag ay yong mga baguhan - uhugin pa lang gusto nang maging senador. Ni hindi nga nila alam kung kaya nila. Pinilit siguro ng mga magulang. O malakas lang siguro ang loob ... o makapal ang mukha.

Hindi mo rin mawari kung MATALINO - eh ayaw man lang magparticipate sa mga debate at nang masampolan. Kita mo nang manalo na sila ... doon natin nalaman how bad our choices are ... hinayaan nating mag-disappearing act sila sa mga debates - ngayon lang natin nalaman na nabudol tayo.. Kaya pala iwas ng iwas. Aba sa America the more articulate you are ... the better.

Nasa limbo rin tayo at hindi natin alam kung sino sila at saan MAGALING sila. Magaling ba sila magsalita? Naaninag ba natin ang kanilang talino? Maka-Diyos ba? May respeto sa sarili? Loyal ba sila sa bayan at handang ipagtanggol ito? At ano ang magawa niya para sa mga Pilipino?

Isang rude awakening sa atin na sa ibang bagay pala sila MAGALING noong nanalo na sila.  Magaling silang mangupit at mang-intriga, expertise nila ang fake news, marunong silang maglubid ng kasinongalingan, una silang nagjump-ship sa pagtanggol sa bayan ay inuuna nila ang kanilang sarili bago ang taong bayan.

Aba panata na ba natin ang magpabudol? Every election na lang we are always hoping that we choose the right people para makaahon tayo sa hirap ... pero what do we get?

We feel shortchanged ... and with the cavalier attitude nating lahat sa pagpili ng matinong kandidato ... huwag ka nang mangsisi sa iba sa mga kapalpakan mo.

Ang unang tao na sisihin mo ay ... IKAW!

Some Deep Thoughts Before Election Day

 

Now that the election is approaching... let me feature here some strong words from Luis V Teodoro (former Dean of UP Diliman College of Mass Communication. He is also a journalist and educator who has passed away recently, but his words will remain indelible, and well-meaning people will treasure them forever.

He nailed this timely message right on the head, and no amount of whining from the other camp can stop him from calling a spade a spade.

Some salient points in his message said that Filipinos are UNTEACHABLE ... meaning not all of us are willing to learn ... or be taught. Some reasons why it is so ... because some of us lack humility.

When a person is deficient in recognizing his own flaws (for example, idolizing a politician whose rhetorics are punctuated with random killing or rape jokes... tendency to violence, whether verbal or physical ... being a mysoginist or outright defiance of the usual set of norms), when being corrected, the response is a prideful or condescending attitude like dismissing other points of views. "This is what I believe ... so chll and mind your own business!"

Another reason is arrogance. If a person sees himself and thinks of themselves as higher or better than others, there is no room to improve because they don't have an iota of knowledge of their shortcomings ,,, of who and what they are.  They can't advance and upgrade because trying to better themselves is not in their vocabulary. They think the way they behave right now is a paragon of virtues.

Another reason why people can't be taught is that they have a strong belief in themselves as a person ... and their own knowledge and capabilities, their successes, and self-worth. While it is possible to influence their beliefs and perception of themselves... I am warning you ... it is not a "quick fix." Hearing comments like " I graduated with A plus grades ... I am confident I am choosing the right candidate. So who are you to MEDDLE in the MIDDLE of my choices?"

Still, one valid explanation why people are "unreachable'  and "unteachable" is their resistance to new ideas, perspectives, and points of view. It is human nature that people don't like being contradicted, challenged, and refuted. If they like a certain politician this election ... it is the gospel truth, and nobody can ruin that perception.

Another possible explanation why people stick to their beliefs like glue ... is an old-time Pinoy reaction and behavior when change is imminent - RESISTANCE TO CHANGE.

Think about it: why are people so averse to change when it is clear that the current political climate is not working for this candidate and needs at least tweaked ... if not completely changed?

Simple ... change is difficult, and it is hard work. Think about it, how can you change, for instance, a loyal supporter, who had been a true-blue pompom member of a troll army and had been DEPENDING on his bread and butter all his life, DEFENDING and writing on behalf of his candidate? 

To make the question more emphatic, how could one assume they could change behavior or change support to the candidate when they have been performing that behavior the whole time? 

The saying "bend a tree while it is young" gives credence to this. The proverb suggests that trying to correct behavior or instill values when a person has made it his lifestyle can be much more difficult and a Herculean task, to say the least. 

People need a compelling reason to change; just teaching them they should change is not a compelling enough reason.

Sayaw dito ... kanta doon ... kahit disintunado or parehong kaliwa ang paa ... hindi  sila maawat sa kanilang PORMA.

Hindi Marunong Pumili Ang Pinoy?

May nagcomment na kahit alin mang election hindi talaga marunong magpili ang Pinoy.

Huwag naman nating lahatin, at may matitino din naman. Ang problema lang mas marami ang vocal majority na nahuhumaling sa mga "undesirables" as compared sa silent minority na hindi na mga umiimik hindi pa rin bomoboto.

When Michael Sager and Emilio Daez were evicted sa bahay ni Kuya nagkaroon ng general sentiment that Pinoys usually go with the abnormal route ... na kung sino ang matino ... tinatapon na lang sa basurahan.

They go with the superficials kesehodang magastosan sila sa pagsuporta sa mga paborito nila. Whoever is pleasing to their eyes ... or kung sino ang nagbibigay ng kilig ... at kung sino ang nagbigay ng kiliti sa kanila ...doon sila. They always go on the side of frivolity over substance.

They vote and make the candidate have another lease of life ... pumipili sila not necessarily yong may magandang ugali kundi kung saan sila natutuwa at kung sino ang pantasya nilang tropahin at jowain. The irony was: the good ones got evicted ... and the toxic ones stays.

Huwag na tayong lumayo ... dala pa rin ng mga Pinoy ang ugaling "wala silang pakialam" ... pati na sa national election ... hindi nila sineseryoso at hindi sila nagboto responsibly. Na dapat ang election 2025 is suppose to be the judgment day ... where the goats are being separated from the sheep.

Well-meaning people have made campaign drives "na ang boto this election ay boto para sa ating kinabukasan." Pero sadyang matigas ang ulo ng Pinoy at sarado ang tenga at isip para sa isang matinong pakiusap.

Ang hilig talaga nila sa mga sikat. At marupok sila ... lalo na kung pogi o maganda ang sumusuyo sa kanila. The fact of the matter: ano ba ang silbi ng magandang mukha kung wala silang (yong mga idolo nila) alam sa mga issue at problema ng bayan.

Uulitin ko hitik na hitik na ang senado sa mga artista na parang palamuti (wall flower baga) na lang sila sa mga hearings in aid of legislation. Dahil bored na sila ... may mga instances na yong mga walang mai-contribute ay nahuhuli ng camera na sumusuklay ng bigote, ginawang eat-all-you-can ang hearing (hindi na yata nagaalmusal sa bahay ay ginawang extension ng bahay nila ang senado. . Utang na loob ... hindi smorgasboard ang kongreso at hindi pagpabondat ang rason kung bakit sila nandiyan.

Kailangan pa bang dagdagan ng ilan pang palamunin diyan? Hindi ba tayo nakontento na may isa or dalawa na diyan ... at kailangan pa nating palobohin ang numero nila?

Hindi ba sila naiilang na everytime na pumasok sila they are being acknowledge: "announcing to you the presence of so and so ... (sila naman kaway ng kaway ... imagine tinatawag silang honorable) tapos kakain lang pala ang gawin or nakahilata sa reclining chair sapo ang noo ... at minamabuti na lang nilang tumahimik na lang ... kaysa maging active participant sa discussion tapos laman sila ng puna at viral sa you-tube at comment section pagkatapos silang pagtawanan?

Yong iba sa atin ... kung sino ang nagmumura, nagbabanta, nagsisinungaling, nainvolve sa corruption, nagnanakaw, nangiintriga, gumagawa ng fake news and most of all siyento porsiyento na bastos ... doon sila nagsusuporta.

Para silang mga de-susing manika na iisa lang ang isip at mistula silang na-hypnotize at na-Black Magic at hindi na makaiwas at makahindi. Or in-abracadabra sila ng kampon ng kadiliman dahil mukhang lutang na. Sunod sila ng sunod ... wala na sila katinoan as if they lost their sense of right and wrong.

Pumapalakpak sila sa mga mura ... at nagha-high five sila sa mga tsismis at fake news na buong layang isinapubliko ... parang pulutan na lang sa barberya at sa inoman ng magtropa. Sa social media, they come in strong force at para silang magigiting na abogado para sa mga idolo nila. Handang mamatay para maipagtanggol sila.

We often asked ourselves bakit namamayagpag ang mga delinquent leaders in our midst? Simple ang sagot diyan ... dahil marami sa atin ay delinquent voters din.

We allowed ourselves to be used ... at never tayong nag-self examine kung sino talaga sa mga kandidato ang karapatdapat mamuno. Binigyan lang tayo ng 100 pesos ... ayos na at buong giliw nating ibenta ang boto natin.

Kaya sila namimihasa at patuloy na ginagawa ang mga karahasan at katiwalian ... that is because mga ENABLER tayo ... that is because we allowed them. Wala tayong dapat sisihin kundi TAYO rin.

Huwag kang magkaila!

History Repeat Iyself

This is just a meme review.

Historic recurrence is the repetition of similar events in history. Just like the image above, the people choose to release Barabas, a prominent figure in the biblical story of Jesus's crucifixion. He was a notorious criminal, and robber, and an insurrectionist who was released by Pontius Pilate instead of Jesus.

It is obvious the owner of the image wants it to compare with one prominent politician's personal odyssey, where even with a truckload of glaring evidence and proofs, people would rather turn their backs and ignore the obvious.

History repeats itself when past and present specific events bear the same striking similarity. There is that noticeable resemblance, and the similarity is so strong that it catches the eye and can easily be observed.

Notice how the incident that happened Anno Domini and the last administration's political saga share the same nuances and characteristics.  

The parallelism is significant and stands out rather than being merely subtle or minor.
