Don't Let OCD Control You

Imagine somebody approach you para magtanong. Sinagot mo naman with all sincerity and in turn hindi naniwala sa iyo. At naghanap pa siya ng ibang taong tatanongin.

This happens in the hospital setting ...  a lot. A new grad came and approached you and told you about his problem that a doctor made a medicine order by phone and because he was nervous he was not able to get the right medicine's name, dose, and frequency. You told him what he will do and instead turn around and ask another person.

If you are not professional ... you will be mad.  And for sure he will hear a handful like "I will not be hired as your supervisor for teaching you the wrong thing."

So you asked him: " So what is her advice to you?" And he replied, "Like what you said!"

New grads are meticulous lot. Not wanting to make more errors he'd rather ask 2-3 persons to make him feel better. He is one of that people who gets stuck when they have to make decisions. So big is his fear of messing up that they have fear of making the wrong choice so they dilly dally on taking action and refuse to pick one option. Asking 2-3 people is an obsessive-compulsive response, and asking people is their way of pacifying themselves and reassuring them that he is doing the right thing.

We perform poorly if stressed or under pressure or through lack of concentration. As such we are fallible, thus we are susceptible to errors.

Sa tagal ng bakasyon nakalimutan ko na kung paano magtrabaho at kung ano ang mga ginagawa ko.

It is like my first day of orientation ... nangangapa pero excited about what today brings.

Back To School

Tapos na ag Holy Week ... and then yong Day of Valor (Araw Ng Kagitingan) last April 9, 2023, which is Easter Sunday was moved to Monday, April 10 to make way for a long weekend vacation.

Today back to school ulit ang mga estudyante. Tapos na-realize nila sa haba ng pahinga ni hindi man lang sila nakapunta sa beach. Buti pa yong mga walang pera ... umutang para magsummer getaway sa Boracay.
