The long drought is over. Gilas Pilipinas just received an "answered prayer" when gold was given to them in a golden plate last Friday at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou China.
Team Philippines gave the basketball crazy Filipino fans a giveaway and a freebie when doubts turned to gold as they reclaim from Jordan a 70-60 victory retrieving and recouping the elusive Asian Basketball championship that dodge them like a curse for a tedious 61 years.
The Philippines last won the Asiad gold in Jakarta in 1962 ... the lean years was interminable and as stated above 61 years is so protracted and lingering ... it is older than anyone else ... would you believe?
