Netizens Comment: What is your stand on Will Smith and Chris Rock's tussle at the Oscars.
Response:
I normally don't answer a question with a flood of more questions, but I will do it this time.
Was Will Smith hitting comedian host Chris Rock just a scheme and a device so people will talk about the Oscars in the next few months or in the years to come? Just like when Steve Harvey made that most talked-about TV faux pas when he called Colombia the winner of Miss Universe 2015 instead of the Philippines?
Do they really have to stoop this low to drumbeat the event? For media mileage? For TV ratings and blitzkrieg reviews in gossip columns and tabloids?
What's the Oscar's stand on violence especially if it was seen on national TV where even children unwittingly witnessed Will Smith's display of his unchecked outburst and juvenile temper tantrums?
And is Chris Rock planning to sue? Comedian or no comedian or whether he was at fault here for not setting his limits on his comedic repertoire, I can't imagine myself being in his position being knocked out on stage for everybody to see like it was a bonus added attraction. Nor do I want to make myself the butt of jokes in the next months to come.
How about the actors and the rest of the movie personalities present? Are they going to make a stand on violence, condone it or just shrug it off like it was just some normal kiddie street brawl?
These questions need to be answered otherwise Will Smith can do these actions routinely without batting an eyelash depending on his mood and state of mind.
