For every conflict and problem ... you have to make a post-mortem review and analyze yourself.
This will give you the idea of where you went WRONG ... so you can devise means and ways to make it RIGHT.

Just work hard in silence ... and let your success be the noise.
Most of all ... let other people define success for you ... not you insinuating empty successes and trying to find validation from people around you.
The yardstick for success is not always what you see. It is just too foolish for someone to fall prey and think that he has already reached the top ... when the parameters of others do not concur with his conclusions.
People who crow about their little successes ... or how content in how they become of themselves are living an imaginary life where reality clashes with fantasy.
Success is a relative term. If you achieve what you want and are happy about it ... that may be considered a success. Some successes are small to some (in their estimate) ... but enormous to others.
So when people have the habit of pointing out what little achievements they have ... means only two things. First ... this might be his first taste of victory that he can't handle himself and redundantly repeats talking about it. Or he is not used to having this success (like a person who is counting 1000 peso bills "in flagrante" in broad daylight for everybody to see) ... because success is few and far between.
What is he trying to prove? Is he trying to convince others that money for him is not a problem? Or is he trying to convince himself that the situation (holding thousands of money) is only fleeting and temporary ... so he might as well flaunt it while he has it.
Don't talk about what you do ... just continue doing it. The more you talk about it ... people will misconstrue you as bragging. Just continue the good work ... and let the good results speak for you.
Fantasy and pretending are not wrong in momentary usage, but over or prolonged use is potentially harmful to your mental state and overall well-being.
You have to think of yourself. If you follow the usual and what everybody is accustomed to doing ... and if you follow what they do because you want to please them ... you lose your potential and the zeal and enthusiasm ... not to mention the freedom and the great pleasure of being distinctive and a different you.
You owe that to yourself ... it pays dividends to show the world what you can accomplish... because you are UNIQUE.
