Netizen's Comment. What can you say about the culture in Philippine politics where people treat elected officials like gods almost bordering on fanaticism, obsession, bigotry, and zealotry?

Response: It is high time we have to get away from the misguided notion that government officials seeking office can do no wrong. If they make something wrong in the past, we should not play blind and deaf, especially during election time.

Let us get away with treating candidates seeking election as heroes or celebrities. They are people we hire to do a job, not as somebody to adore and idolize.

Now that we are it, let us also get away from electing celebrity candidates whose only passport in the political scene is being the most publicized or being in the limelight.

Such a shallow excuse to get the public nod or trust.
