Hindi naman ako sinungaling. If you listen well ... I told you, I know how to sing.

I did not say ... maganda itong pakinggan.
Women (beauty queens especially) are like .... singing in the choir.
Their individual voices (beauty and talent) combined with others' create a RAINBOW of notes ... and the feeling of oneness ... in perfect HARMONY.
Men are like .... unsolicited advice.
It is like singing out of TUNE. Nobody wants to HEAR it.
Idioms allow us to say a lot with few words. Idioms amplify your messages in a way that draws your readers in and helps awaken their senses. It adds dynamism and character to otherwise stale writing. They make your writing less monotonous and your readers will think that you are smart and knowledgeable. All the while ... you only clothe your writing with elaborate idioms to create an impact... saying too much with less.
To perfect your English, you really need to become confident in using idioms and knowing the difference between breaking a leg and pulling someone's leg. So the idiom of the day is:
IDIOM: Bite the bullet
MEANING: Face the music, cross the Rubicon, have no choice, no alternative. It is an informal way of saying the person has to do something unpleasant ... because it is necessary.
ORIGIN: This phrase dates back to 1891 recorded by Rudyard Kipling in his novel The Light That Failed. It was believed that the idiom originated from an ancient practice where a patient has to bite the bullet in between their teeth to cope with pain because a surgical procedure is being done without anesthesia.
USING IT IN A SENTENCE: Two senior citizens decide to bite the bullet and sold the house they live in for 60 years and spent their remaining days in the nursing home.
This is despite my friend's advice: "Don't let the same snake ... bite you TWICE."
Ewan ko ba ... hindi ko maintiendihan ang logic ng isang tao na ang bigay na biyaya sa kanya ay ... GOOD Health.
Maganda nga ang estado ng kalusugan mo ... eh bakit naghahanap ka ng martilyo na pamalo sa ulo mo. Physically you are A-okay ... pero your mental health is in question. Bakit ka umiinom, naninigarilyo and why are you into drugs? Gusto mo ng cancer? Ng cirrhosis of the liver? O gusto mo lang ng panandaliang aliw?
Yan pala ang hanap mo eh. Ituloy mo lang yan ... one of these days babagsak ang Damocles sword ... ang bagay na hindi mo inaasam at pinapangarap ... ay kusang lalapit sa iyo.
Ginusto mo ... e di ibigay. No problem!
And then nagkasakit ka nga... cancer of the lungs. The realization that you are not after all invincible nags you to death. Of all people, sa isang taong hindi marunong makinig ... umiiyak din pala. At sa bibig mo mismo nanggaling ... gusto mong gumaling ... at kailangan magpahospital. And you are pleading for second chances?
Stupid much? Kung kailan Stage 4 na iyong cancer mo ... gusto mo pang gumaling? Nagiisip ka ba? Hospital? Hindi biro ang magpahospital. You will leave your family in a total financial mess ... na balewala lang sa iyo ... na parang isang LARO lang.
Ang pagsisisi talaga ay natatagpuan sa huling chapter ng buhay ng bawat tao. Aanhin mo man ang good health ... kung hindi ka na good health ... aber?
Indeed. those who play with MATCHSTICKS ... are playing with FIRE!
Moral lesson? Don't play with FIRE if you don't want to get BURNED!
