Impeachment Kailan Umpisahan?

There is an ongoing debate about the impeachment ... and it has something to do with how soon the Senate will act on it?

As it is, the House of Representatives ... has finished its task. VP Sara was already IMPEACHED.

The question is will the Senate have her CONVICTED?

The ball is now on the Senate after the House sent the articles of impeachment to them on their last day of work before the RECESS starts.

The Senate President however took it half-heartedly. He has that questioning look para bang sinasabi niyang: "Akala ko ba RECESS Kami ngayon ... nangangampanya at nagbabakasyon ang lahat.

Why only now?"

Chit Escudero did not mince a word when reporters asked: "When will the impeachment proceeding start?"

"They have been SITTING on this for two months ... hindi naman puede yong dahil nandito na ... umpisahan na kaagad?

Tapos kami ngayon ang sasabihang ino-UUPUAN namin?"

I understand his frustration. Chit responded "Who says we are delaying it ... of course ang mga nagrereklamo ay ang the House, of Representatives, the complainants, and those who file the articles of impeachment.

There were four articles of impeachment and the secretary general did not even bother to transfer any of the four... and to think it is just a few meters away.

So why do all of a sudden people expect us to act within a few hours when they seem not to be in too much of a rush before?

Chit continued: "Hindi kailangan magtawag ng special session para masimulan ang impeachment trial.

"Ano ba ang reason at bakit minamadali ito ... ito ba ay dahil especial siya ... or dahil ba galit ang ilang sektor at gusto umpisahan kaagad ...?

Huwag nating madaliin ito ... para hindi ito magdulot ng instabilidad at para hindi magdulot ng duda ... ano man ang maging pasya ng bawat isa ng impeachment judges.

Sagot ng Lorenz Defensor isang congressman kay Chit: "Wala kaming sinisisi ... at wala kaming sinasabing magsimula na agad."

"Konstitusyon lang naman ang nagsasabi noon. At walang kondisyon na nakalagay sa ating konstitusyon kung kailan magsimula.

Ang nakalagay lang doon ay SA MADALING PANAHON!"

Sa sagutan na ito nagkaroon ng debate ang ating mga legal luminaries.

"Bakit pipilitin ang Senado na kumilos kaagad-agad gayong ang house of representatives were taking their own sweet time ... bakit hindi agad nila inindorso kung gusto nila ang agarang pagsagawa nito.

At bakit kailangan pang hintayin ang huling session ng mataas na kapulungan bago magkumahog ang lahat?

The news is getting worse ... dahil ang huling balita ngayong FEBRUARY ... ay sisimulan daw ang trial sa JUNE.

And there are other conflicting reports stating umpisahan daw ang hearing ... pagkatapos ng SONA ni BBM sa JULY.

PHEEW! If that is true limang buwan tayong maghihintay - mukhang sa AGOSTO pa mangyari ito.

So kailan nga ba dapat magumpisa? Ano na ba ang dapat gawin para maumpisahan na ito?

Dito na nag-umpisa ang gulo ... lahat yata ng mga abogado ... pati na mga political pundits debated on how the constitution was worded lalo na ang word na FORTHWITH (a word na hindi pinapansin noon ... pero nagiging viral ngayon)

Some legal minds say forthwith is "ngayon na" ... yan daw ang ibig sabihin nito. So ... kung susundin lang talaga ng Senado ang Constitution ... it has to be NOW!

Under the 1987 Constitution, the verified impeachment complaint filed by at least a third of the 306-strong House members will “constitute the Articles of Impeachment ... and trial by the Senate shall FORTHWITH proceed.”

Ano ba kasi ang ibig sabihin ng FORTHWITH na yan? Bakit kasi hindi na lang nila sinemplehan salita para madaling maintiedihan ng mga tao?

Sa Tagalog version ang meaning nito ay kaagad'. As in ora-mismo ... in today's lingo ... NOW NA!

Nalintikan na. Magkaroon pa yata ng consitutional crisis itong impeachment ni Inday.

Marami kasing mga naggalingang mga abogado ... pati mga TV reporters,vloggers at ang mga madlang people umaastang abogado na.

Sabi ng Constitution "Ngayon Na". Eh ano naman magawa ni Chit Escudero eh may election sa Mayo ... at may kampanya ang half of the impeachment judges. Dahil recess nga ...kung wala sa bakasyon ... NASA kampanya.

Dia Mate just won Reina Hispano Americana 2025.  That makes two crowns in this pageant after Winwyn Marquez made a history-breaking feat in 2017.

The pressure is on Krisnah Gravidez to make it even in Miss World 2025. The Philippines last won Miss World in 2013 with Megan Young.

After winning more than 70 titles last year ... is the Philippines gearing up for a three-peat back-to-back of the same accomplishments?

This is also the second win of the Philippines in this pageant ... where Latin beauties reign supreme. That is after the historic moon landing of Win-Win Marquez in 2017 where first time pa lang nagjoin sa patimpalak ang Pinas ... panalo na?

Reina Hispano-Americana has existed since 1991 ... aba 34 years na yan at wala man lang Pinoy ang nag-attempt na e-elevate yan as Alpha pageant?  Ang kupad natin! E ngayong nakadalawa na tayong korona ... mag- martsa na ba tayong lahat na parang mga Iglesia Ni Cristo at gawin nating Big Six kasama na ang Reina Hispano-Americana?

E yong Miss Cosmo at Miss Charm first and second year pa lang nila ,,,, at dahil mga kapitbahay natin ang nanalo doon ... aba pinutakte ng mga rabid fans ang social media (na uhaw sa trophy at korona) na ito na raw ang magpataob ng Miss Universe at Miss Earth.

Ang yabang nga naman ... konting lakas lang ng loob ... puede na silang magimbento ng fake news para maisakatuparan nila ang kanilang maiitim na balak na iismolin lang ang more than 70 titles last year tapos ipamukha sa atin na naabutan na nila ang stature ng Pilipinas? 

Walang pumipigil na hindi sila mag-yabang sa mga bagong achievements nila ... karapatan nila yon. Pero dapat ilagay ang mga balita at report sa tamang context at huwag nang mag-exagerrate at manggamit ng ibang countries at maliitin ang mga panalo nila ... para isulong lang ang kanilang sinimulan ... kahit magmistula na silang trying hard at desperado?

Saan ka ba makakita na first year pa lang ng Miss Cosmo ... lasing na ang unang nanalo doon sa pag-hype ay paghabi ng kasinungalingan ... na naipanganak na raw ang  pageant that will make beteranong contest na time-tested na .... bite the dust. Sa kanila ang longevity ay hindi basehan.

Ang Miss Charm naman ... second year pa lang nagkaletse-letse na kung saan at kailan gawin ang kanilang second installment. Paano kung mangyari din yan sa Miss Cosmo na bata pa ang may-ari at nagmistulang alalay na lang siya sa pagescort sa kanilang winner. Wala ba siyang magawa sa oras niya at panahon at mas gusto pa niyang mag-country hopping kasama ng kanyang winner? Bata pa yan Anytime pwede magbago ang isip niyan ... pati ang kanyang priorities lalo na sa pera.

At saan ka ba nakakita na nakatsamba ka lang ng minor pageants ... nagbuhat ka na ng sariling banko at powerhouse country na daw sila? Agad-agad? At ang lakas kumantiyaw ha.  Paniwalang-paniwala sa kanilang kasinungalingan.

Saan ka ba makakita na sa history ng Miss Supranational ... kung ikumpara mo daw ang mga "face value " ng mga past winners mula ng ito ay magumpisa ... sino daw ang pinakaganda? Sino pa ba ang asahan mong panalo para sa pa-survey nila? E di tong kandidata nila! How transparent.

Mabuti na lang ang mga Pinoy bihira ang ganyang mentality. Reina Hispano Americana deserve the recognition they need dahil sa tagal na ng panahon at buhay pa sila ... pero hindi dahil nanalo ka lang ng korona sa kanila ... you will make a fool of yourself para utuin sila. 

They don't need that kind of buttering or greasing. Mga matatalino at professional sila.

THE BLIND LEADING THE LOST: A NATION BETRAYED

The halls of Congress and the Senate reek of betrayal. This is no longer just a circus—it is a grand heist, a vicious mockery of the Filipino people's sacrifices. While we break our backs, bleed, and sacrifice for this nation, our so-called leaders are busy looting not just our wealth but our very dignity. Their spectacle of greed and indifference has condemned 119 million Filipinos to despair. They are no leaders—they are traitors. Blind to the needs of the nation, leading us to a chasm of hopelessness.

A RUTHLESS BETRAYAL
Let us not mince words—this is treason. When Congress butchered billions from education, they didn’t just adjust a spreadsheet. They tore futures from the hands of Filipino children. They shattered the dreams of students who saw education as their only escape from the clutches of poverty. They sabotaged a nation’s chance to rise, condemning generations to mediocrity and despair.

Article XIV of our Constitution mandates that education receive the highest budgetary priority. Yet these cowards violated the law with impunity. They robbed the classrooms, burned the books, and locked the gates of learning. Our dismal global ranking in Math, Science, and Reading is no accident. It is a crime. It is murder—the murder of our children’s potential.

HEALTHCARE: THE FIRST CASUALTY
Zero funding for PhilHealth in 2025 is not just negligence—it’s malice. It’s as if Congress has declared war on the poor. How many parents will have to bury their children because they couldn’t afford a doctor? How many breadwinners will be crippled by illness, left to rot because our healthcare system has been gutted?

PhilHealth is not a "reserve fund" for their thieving hands to dip into. It is the lifeblood of millions of Filipinos who cling to it in their most desperate hours. The Universal Health Care Act clearly mandates sin taxes to support PhilHealth. They violated that too. What do they call this? Mismanagement? No, this is state-sanctioned cruelty.

THE FARCE OF AKAP
And now, the "Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program" (AKAP) comes along—a shameless election bribe dressed as charity. P26 billion stolen from education and healthcare, disguised as aid, but in reality, it’s ammunition for the corrupt to cement their power. They will toss these scraps to the people during election season while millions of Filipinos starve, bleed, and suffer.

Do they think we are blind? Do they think we cannot see this brazen, cynical ploy for what it is? Every peso wasted on AKAP is another peso stolen from classrooms, hospitals, and roads. It’s another dagger in the back of the Filipino people.

OUR SILENCE MAKES US COMPLICIT
But perhaps the greatest betrayal is our own. Our silence feeds their arrogance. Why are we not in the streets? Why do we allow these thieves to gut our nation while we watch from the sidelines? Is it fear? Apathy? Exhaustion? Whatever the reason, our passivity emboldens them. Every moment of silence is a betrayal of the nation we claim to love.

Even our Supreme Court, the supposed guardian of justice, stands paralyzed—too terrified of congressional wrath to do their duty. Where is the justice for the oppressed when even the judiciary cowers? When justice is silent, tyranny thrives.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
This is no longer about politics—it’s about survival. They are dismantling our nation, brick by brick, peso by stolen peso. And unless we fight back, they will leave nothing behind but ashes and despair.

But there is hope. We, the people, are the true power of this nation. We can end this betrayal. We can demand accountability. We can take back what is rightfully ours—a government that serves, not plunders.

THE TIME TO FIGHT IS NOW
If we remain silent, we deserve the ruin that follows. But if we rise—if we unite and act—we can reclaim this nation from the thieves and traitors who have hijacked it. Let our anger be our fuel. Let our indignation spark a revolution of accountability.

The question is not if we can fight back. The question is, will we fight back before it’s too late?

For every peso stolen, for every dream crushed, for every life lost—we must demand justice.

This betrayal must end. This theft must end. This silence must end. The time to act is now.

Impeach VS Convict

Isang local DDS ang naringgan after the impeachment of Inday Sara.

E ano ngayon? Na-IMPEACH pa lang ... hindi pa na-CONVICT. Na-IMPEACH palang ng House of Representatives ... pero hindi pa na-COBVICT ng Senate.

Aba eh... naghihintay pala ng milagro sa Senado?

Medyo confident ang isang ito.

"Aba oo naman ... gusto mo bang mag-name names ako?" hamon niya. Ayaw man patulan ng kaibigan ko dahil ayaw niya to put some senators on the spot ... pero mapilit siya ... kaya tinaggap niya ang hamon.

At nagumpisa na siyang nag-namedrop. Mukhang updated nga ang DDS na ito at buong giting pa niyang sinabi ang dalawang pangalan ng magkapatid sa politika, magkapatid na taga showbiz, tatlong lalaking artista, isang mag-ina, kapatid ng presidente, 3 alalay ng dating presidente.

Aba eh ... kung totoo pala ang sinabi niya ... hindi na pala sagrado ang impeachment process? Puede pala magawan ng paraan gamit ang koneksyon ... pagkakaibigan at utang na loob?

Kung sa Congreso dangal na at pangalan ang itinaya nila ... sa Senado pala pinaglaruan (?) lang nila?

And acquittal or conviction pala ng isang akusado at maisagawa at maipagkatuparan kung marami kang kaibigan sa senado? At dahil sa pareho kayo ng interest ... at hindi na sila makinig sa mga "resibo" at mga factual events at pangyayari? Wala na ba silang dignidad at pwede nilang gawaran ng NOT GUILTY verdict and isang GUILTY?

Impeachment will be an exercise in futility then if that is the case. It is pointless and not worth doing. 

If Congress has been putting a lot of effort into this ... tapos pagdating sa Senate ... it will fall on deaf ears ... gaganahan ka pa ba?

It is too bad na marami na ang senador ang  naringgan ng kanilang position. Hindi pa nag-umpisa ang trial ... inosenti na at Santa ang trato nila. Sarado na ang tenga at pagiisip.

Hindi ko ma-blame ang ibang kolumnista at vloggers who paint a different hue sa almost kalahati sa komposisyon ng senado.

Nag-diyos-diyosan ba sila at mas gusto pa nilang malugmok ang Pilipinas sa kamay ng mga taong wala namang pagmamahal sa naghihingalong Pinoy?

May mga iba nga who asked: Senador nga ba sila ng bayan? O mga senador sila ng mga nagdaang rehimen?

Hindi daw magattend ng Impeachment  si Inday Sara.  "Ayaw daw niyang ma-INTIMIDATE ang mga prosecutors at mga senators.

Talaga lang. Nakaintimidate ba siya ... or umiiwas siya sa kahihiyan at mahubdan na ang katotohanan? Kung aattend siya siguradong ipasagot sa kanya ang mga tanong na iniiwasan niyang sagotin ... noon pa man?

Sa totoo lang ... natatakot SILA ... or natatakot ka?

In the same press conference ,,, Inday Sara continued to deny na meron siyang threat to kill the president, the first lady, and the speaker.

I did not have any assassination threat to the President ... sila lang ang nagsasabi niyan.  Sila lang nagsasabi ng assassination ,,, sila lang ang nagsasabi na may assasin ,,, at gun man,"
