Pageant Result: Miss International 2023

Nikki de Moura: A Victim?

After Nikki de Moura failed to join the elite Top 20, Arnold Vegafria should recalibrate his thoughts on whether he still wants to join Miss Grand International next year or totally scrap this biased pageant for good.  Despite all the warnings and well-intentioned advice, Arnold defies the overall sentiment and allows himself to be used by Nawat. It is a pill harder to swallow ... and I dare say Arnold ,,, you deserve the pain you are experiencing right now ... just for being naive and hard-headed. I mean nobody in his right mind, can just ignore Nikki's presence and replace it with lesser candidates who don't belong there.

The Philippines is not hungry for titles anymore ... because our representatives have repeatedly proven that we are powerhouse of beauty pageants in Asia or even the world. I mean consider the record below ... If I am a loose canon ... or am I exaggerating.  Our achievements do not lie ... you can scrutinize them all you want but it is a stellar record that is second to none. Nobody can TOP that.

Our point is ... we are not asking for the Miss Grand crown. All we want is for Nawat to return that respect and not squander the hopes and dreams of the candidates who spend their time, money, and effort preparing for the pageant. Would it be too much for the grandest of cooking shows to give Nikki even the measly number 20 spot? I am not power-tripping... nor I am delusional to believe that the Philippines needs to place,  All I am asking is for producers to acknowledge and give credit to where credit is due.

See ... after the result of Miss International 2023 was revealed and the Philippines' Nicole Borromeo was declared third Runner Up along with Venezuela, Colombia, and Peru (all real powerhouse countries) it was a testament that the Philippines is consistent with its winning and not derailed by somebody's juvenile bias and jealousy. 

And with that said Miss Grand International was relegated to just being a footnote no matter what his producers said.

Slip of The Pen?

If you are a grammar police who usually gets irritated and cannot stand your penchant for the use of the fractured King's language ... incoherent sentence structure and semantics ... mind-boggling syntax and word coordination ... this nook is not for you. 

But traveling from Aparri to Jolo ... we encountered signage in the streets that managed to put a smile on our faces ... even though Robin Padilla's grandiose display of bad opinions ... or China's flexing his superpower muscle ... has riled up and angered our tender sensibilities.

We are here to celebrate (not mock) the little cracks and flaws in the manner we communicate ourselves. All of us make mistakes ... and at a time when a kilo of rice at 20 pesos is next to impossibility ... we need a little outlet to have a hearty laugh.

And no matter how over-use the cliche goes ... Laughter is indeed ... the best medicine
