This quote from Etienne de Grellet means that you have only one chance to make a difference ... in your life and how you deal with people around you.  You have one time to show that you care about this world. You have one chance to leave this world a little better. 

Life is given to people as one one-time opportunity ... so we have to use this privilege and use it to maneuver by doing all that is good and right for our neighbors.

When was the last time you did some corporal works of mercy like: 

• Feed the hungry.
• Give a drink to the thirsty.
• Clothe the naked.
• Visit the imprisoned.
• Shelter the homeless.
• Visit the sick.
• Bury the dead.

Indeed ... t is a wasted opportunity if you look the other way and choose to ignore what the passage means.
