Pageant Oddity

This is another pageant oddity. There are only two countries in the world that have completely won all 6 Alpha crowns - the Philippines and Puerto Rico.

We won the six crowns - how come our kapitbahays does not consider us a powerhouse? That's odd.

To think that these neighbors are not even in the list above. An oddity ... indeed!

Did the senator really mean what he said?  Or it was just lip service.  What he is doing on the side doesn't seem to coincide with what he says.  So it seems.

To avoid the appearance of impropriety in an impeachment case, a senator-judge must demonstrate impartiality, objectivity, and a commitment to ethical conduct. 

This includes avoiding personal conflicts of interest, maintaining a neutral stance on the matter, and treating all parties involved fairly.

I think our senators know how it is to be fair, unbiased, non-partisan, and evenhanded ... and they know they have to behave and avoid the semblance of falsity and pretense. 

But why is it that the public perception of our so-called senator judges tends to paint them as egomaniacs who would rather vote to acquit in the name of friendship or dismiss the impeachment trial without even hearing the case?

And who can forget the last election where PDP senatorial bets were formed to save the queen in the impeachment trial ... not necessarily geared to serve the Filipino people ... but one family only?

And who could forget the Senate president trying all the ABCs of delaying tactics and devising strategies to defer and postpone convening to gain the much-needed upper hand ... and the advantage?

And the sister of the president before the election... where can you see family loyalty in the way she acted ... when she opted to sleep with the enemy and become the attorney of perpetual help for the embattled president?

Where can you see the number 1 senator who unabashedly admits in interviews that he is willing to give the VP the "pink of health" card even before the evidence is presented?

And the rest of the senators? We haven't heard from them. They give us their silence ... and their being AWOL from the impeachment discussion is so eerie ... I could smell apathy and indifference.

And what's the latest from the newly reelected palace bulldog? He has done the UNTHINKABLE again. He was hell-bent on passing a resolution to de facto dismissal of the impeachment trial.

I am not really sure how to react now. Isn't it ironic that the so-called senator judges are moonlighting as chief architects of a game plan to reject and dismiss the impeachment ...  treating them unworthy and insignificant?

Having a senator-judge like that ... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude ... he is here for one reason alone and that is to ACQUIT.

Don't you think senator-judges like the above-mentioned need to recuse themselves?

To "recuse himself" means that someone, usually a judge, juror, or other legal official, removes themselves from a legal case due to a potential conflict of interest or bias. This action is taken to ensure fairness and impartiality in the legal proceedings.

They should be treated as unqualified and unacceptable to judge 

... they should stay as far away as possible - their meddling doesn't 

Help the Philippines at all.

Sad but true.

Henry Sy will not judge you for starting a business.

Carlos Yulo will not judge you for trying gymnastics.

And Catriona Gray will not judge you if you want to apply for Binibining Pilipinas 2025.

However, senators can pass judgment to acquit in the impeachment trial, even without hearing the prosecutor's arguments, even when presented with an avalanche of evidence.

Twisted sense of morality? It seemed that year in and year out, we voted for candidates whose sense of right and wrong, or their sense of good and bad, was skewed and was in question.

Slip Of The Pen?

Was it a slip of the pen, or was the blogger using the right word?

When used colloquially pwede mong sabihin CJ is "asyumera" or "presumera." Wala pa ngang announcement ang organization nag-assume na na siya na nga. Talagang atat na atat if you want a better term ... pero refinement and good breeding prevailed at naghintay talaga si CJ for Nawat to make it official.
