Who Pays and Hudas Not?

I am a good judge of character. With my extensive experience in psychology and psychiatry... I can almost read somebody else minds. I know who is lying and who is up to something.

Reacting to this hugot line above ... there is a big difference between a person who is afraid or embarrassed to borrow money vs somebody who is "come hell or high water" wanting to borrow money.

Psychology or common sense dictates that people who are afraid to borrow money are wrestling with overthinking ... especially the repercussions resulting from borrowing money. One reason maybe is that he doesn't want to taint his name and be tagged a habitual or perennial "welcher" (a person who swindles you by not paying back a debt or a wager).

He also is aware that lending or borrowing money is a great way to ruin relationships. The person borrowing money generally has that screwed-up mentality that the money lent is free money or a generous gift ... and doesn't need to be paid back.  So he tries his best to avoid being painted as one.

He also thinks this habit is addictive ... the first time a person borrowed money and did not pay ... and the lessor did not show any signs of defiance ... he is coming back for more. He thinks all people are like that... too forgiving & magnanimous.

In short ... this group of people are embarrassed of what these people are doing.  They have that passion of moral goodness ... and there is always that sense and the feeling of obligation to do right and continually be a good person. They have a conscience ... so expect that they come back and pay.

On the other hand, people who are 'head over heels', persistent, and pestering you to borrow money ... by all looks of it really he is in dire financial strait.  If he is just an acquaintance or a new person ... look out ... you may be dealing with the wrong person.

If one is in a financial quandary lending money once or twice is not a problem ... but it doesn't have to come to the point that it will become a habit. Making everyone feel that it is alright to barge in and keep knocking at somebody's door ... treating him like he is the Father of Perpetual Help ... is a perverse thought.

These people can end up bleeding you dry ... as they suck like leeches ... so it needs to stop. Besides ... it puts the lender in a very uncomfortable position of having to be the money collector. And what does he get in return ... a litany of vicious words and dagger looks. If looks could kill ... the lender may be dead by now.

A lot of lenders haven't learned their lessons and there were times they have been sabotaging their own financial health to give aid to people who created their own mess. It’s like when a friend's house is on fire ... trying to be a hero and help him carry appliances from burning … (perish the that Superman thought) ... jumping in may not be the right thing to do under the circumstances.

Discretion is the better part of valor.
