Answer: Like gambling ... people usually take that painful route of asking for advice. and hope that the person giving advice is on the same page as how they think or see the problem. They always hope that the person they approached will say the things they were expecting and agree with them 100 percent. They want the other person to validate what they think of the problem and the measures needed to ease up its gravity. People can feel good about disregarding and paying no attention to the advice they disagree with ... by discounting that the giver of the petulant advice is mean-spirited and they know better anyway.
That's why they are called askholes!
