Slip of The Tongue

An occasional slip of the tongue ... or a slip of the pen is normal and is quickly forgiven by the person listening or reading... that is ... if they even notice it. Even when they do, most people most of the time will recognize a slip of the tongue or pen for what it is and realize that what you meant to say or write ... is not what you did say or write.

This is a classic Melanie Marquez blunder- Miss International 1979.

When interviewed Melanie blurts out:

"I don't eat meat ... I am not a CARNIVAL". 

When she meant CANNIBAL.

It's a Mad Mad World

 A climate of stupidity made this collection possible.

It chronicles the most outrageous occurrences of shortsightedness, incompetence, and poor judgment.

Not all characters in these dispatches are stupid.  Some are merely ridiculous or momentarily inept.

Others are very bright people who become innocently entangled in improbable situations that turn out to sound stupid.

The papers that reported these occurrences are all reputable mainstream bastions of journalism.

Thanks to them, for without their efforts we will never see any strange news from this strange planet.

Although many of us are worried about the threat of crimes in our neighborhood.  The good news is that plenty of crooks don't realize that they are their worst enemy.

Detroit Michigan- Mrs. Florence Loverde 45, placed a wooden table beneath a tree to rescue a stranded cat squawling in the branch of a tree. The table collapsed and Mrs. Loverde suffered a broken left leg and internal injuries.  

It is ironic ... that the cat climbed down unassisted and walked away. Didn't she know that?
