To Blur Or Not To Blur

To blur or not to blur ... That is the question. After the arrest of Boying Remulla's son last October 11 for possession of high-grade marijuana, social media is going through a frenzy, especially how the news program treated the son of the second most powerful man in the Philippines and how an ordinary man of the street was treated.  They felt a little off because they can smell a double standard as to how news reportage was made.

The DOJ secretary was of course in the eye of the storm, but the brunt of criticism boomeranged to the news program who opted and choose to blur and mask the suspect's image when the mugshots were taken.  Only ABS CBN has enough balls to show the face of the suspect.

Here's what they say: 

- Mary Minimalist - Sa wakas nakita ko yung face. Kala ko minor nung una kasi masyado protected kala ko DSWD eh DOJ pala ang nag protect.

-Prank Lang -Dapat lng. haha! Bakit ginawa b nila yan sa ibang accuse lang pero lahat fabricated evidence? Eh yan huli na ... gusto nyo pa yatang palayain.

-Mao Escosia - ABS CBN doesn't need to apologize for exposing the truth. The Remulla's on the other hand have a lot to ask forgiveness from. Boying should resign out of delicadeza and for justice to run its course fairly.

-Papi - Is he a minor to censor his face? Wasn’t it a fact that he was arrested for importation of illegal substance? ABS CBN is just doing their job to inform public of things happening around us.

-EJZ - Drug case din kay Delima. Pero pinahiya nila. Walang ebidensya yan ha.

-RosC- Baka naman mailusot pang minor si Bonjing Remulla at magtago sa likod ng Child Protection Act ha!

-NYC- CNN Philippines quoted Remulla: he says he wants death penalty for drug crimes, kidnapping with ransom, plunder: Drug lords are like cockroaches. You just have to put an end to it. After saying that, paano na ang anak niya?

Are The Stars Out Today? Geoff Eigennmannn

Not everybody has a chance to brush elbows with the stars in the entertainment, modeling, and pageant industries so when the invitation starts knocking at my door ... who am I to refuse. Others may frown at it ... but it is irresistible. Well-meaning friends have given us the opportunity on a silver platter (it is like allowing us to get something easily ... without having to work on it) so when I saw the window ... in basketball lingo - an opening ... all I did was to dribble the ball ... do the lay-up and shoot it for the much-needed money shot.

Geoff Eigenmann was reticent-personified. He was quiet the whole time and just preferred to just smile when there was a need to be or nod when he agreed to what you said. He is one of those stars whom you will give a 100 percent positive review at the end of the meeting.
