Short Circuit

Fancy gadgets lose their sheen through time.  It's for certain that the new products of today will become old tomorrow.

Obsolescence .. and the glib-tongued advertisers will bilk the gullible of their hard-earned cash for that is what they're actually paid for: to purvey and sell.  Harsh but true, absolutely!

As people age, they tend to become wiser and can discern wants as opposed to their own needs.  Material things make life convenient for the Juans who can afford no doubt but the hard question stays  - are the recent material comforts really essential in daily existence?

Here's what I've observed amongst our seniors over the years: our elders no longer crave the new comforts of the present.

They'd cling to the things of old and their values as if the newer contraptions are a trap with no meaning at all and will discard these non-essentials as they live through their sunset years.

It's A Mad Mad World

A climate of stupidity made this collection possible.

It chronicles the most outrageous occurrences of shortsightedness, incompetence, and poor judgment.

Not all characters in these dispatches are stupid.  Some are merely ridiculous or momentarily inept.

Others are very bright people who become innocently entangled in improbable situations that turned out to sound stupid.

The papers that reported these occurrences are all reputable mainstream bastions of journalism.

Thanks to them, for without their efforts we will never see any strange news from this strange planet.

Although a lot of us are worried about the threat of crimes in our neighborhood.  The good news is, that there are plenty of crooks who don't realize that they are their worst enemy.

Are you ready? Here we go!

CAR CHASE:

A car chase with a drunk driver abruptly ended in a detour when the man ended up in jail even before his arrest.

He crashed into the main gates of Indiana State Prison. "I guess that was meant to be, " the police said. He was meant for a jail time ..."

Senator Imee Marcos asking for an apology behind the camera to Karen Davila is creating more buzz than the joke she made in front of the camera for gloating and a zealous display of vindictiveness. Her sincerity will be appreciated if she makes the apology in public on national TV perhaps?

But one thing is sure, her series with Juliana Pariscova has done her bad than good. Unknowingly, she has imbibed and guzzled Juliana's rude and impolite ways, she doesn't act senatorial anymore  ... she's acting more like Juliana.
